Floods in Queensland, Australia

LOL Tommy i have probably posted a few things here and there since last weekend ...

I have to stress that Queensland is 'usually' a stress free place, beautiful and sunny and very touristic....
what has happened in the last 2 months is really strange...
worst floods in history of australia followed by the biggest cyclone to hit dry land in the last 20 years or so ( yes it was bigger than Katrina )

At the moment its heartbreaking to see how things are.... but i am very proud of the preparedness that they have shown (only 3 people died on the cyclone)
and the amount of courage shown.
I guess now the p[roblem is to rebuild all the infrastructure and to convince tourists that they should keep coming to Queensland...

Lol thanks Tommy .... we are fine, thanks for thinking of us in these trying times. QLD will recover soon from all this. If we get another flood i am moving to UK or USA

Por qué vives en Australia?

Irma i live here because it is usually a beautiful and peaceful place. very little crime. people with the dryest sense of humour on earth and with big hearts.
I also guess that i came here as a teenager and i didnt have much choice in the matter

Thanks Danny for answering....my daughter lives in Chile, but he has the possibility to go to Australia to live, I don't want because all the people wo goes there don't want to come back!

Irma I am very very biased but Australia always comes in the top 5 lists of most "livable" or most "happy" or "best place to live" What is happening now is sad and not very common at all.

Check out that link. I love this place my only complaint is that it is too far from everything. If they don;t come back is because of a few possible scenarios : 1) they really liked it here
2) the dingoes ate them lol

Compared to Mexico, Chile or Argentina, the land of oz is decades ahead. But i see your point Irma, i miss my loved ones that are overseas too (Spain, Argentina, USA) and it is very difficult to be so far away. Money and comfort arent everything.
