I believe there are rules setup on this forum to prevent this kind of language? I think John should be banned from the forums for at least a year....

Hello forum members:

Not sure who deleted the BS language.................. It was not me, so that leaves Dr. B or our webmaster.

One of them saw it before I did and did the right thing.

So I will make it plain and to the point.

Anymore foul language and you will be deleted from the forum.

Well i have to say Nick gave us a really honest idea of how he is feeling inside about the whole thing and one would have to respect this young man for that. His open heart to heart post is quite refreshing and while im not taking any sides or passing any judgement right or wrong i have to say in my opinion there goes a nice young man and i hope he will continue to get better as he and guys like him are the future.

Hopefully when his wounds heal he will come back better and not be aiming for JUST an Illinios state title but something much bigger and im sure he can achieve that.

What do you like about checkers?: I enjoy learning more and more as i go. despite its alleged simplicity the game is incredibly complex and rewarding.

since you play with earphones and a hood ( which drew some comments about being odd and suspicious as to why and looked very unprofessional ) I guess I could have complained about your playing with those earphones but I didn't judge you so why are you judging us ?
Both of you are judging, which I see nothing wrong with as it brings excitement into the game. I could hardly call wearing a hoodie and headphones unprofessional when the tournament is hosted in a mall. I bet no one in the mall thought that the people playing checkers are completely weird. But I am not judging. Not at all.
Yeah according to you we shouldn't play anymore and we should just let checkers die.... listen or read what you post neanderthal it might improve your posting quality a little bit

Thanks for your very informative statement.
Chess outlaws all electronic gadgets in tournment play and we should do the same.
Tournaments shouldn't be played in certain areas either. This is not chess. If we made money like chess, sure.
WHOOMP there it is.... all you can do is talk about money, and throw innuendo and sarcasm everywhere.... i am sure you have been asked this before , will you ever grow up Josh?

bugs wrote:Thank you Gary.. and AMEN... I would like to see a public appology from Nick on this forum.. There are some other that might do well to do the same thing.. Some backed Nick based on his word and misleading statements.. Thanks again, Vonda
An apology for what?? There are always 2 sides to every story. What Nick said was probably what he believes is the truth and what Gary said is what he believes is the truth. Does not mean Nick was purposely trying to give misleading facts or information. You would take Garys word over Nicks as most will probably do. I am not taking sides in this but am saying that something needs to be done to prevent problems like this from arising in the future. We can all learn from situations like this one.
Eric you know what happens when you throw mud to the wind??? some of it comes back and sticks to you.... funny how you mention the truth... there was not one ounce of truth in ur original post.... the one that caused all this... which at the end of the day you are responsible for what you post.... some live and learn , others just live
Josh Armstrong wrote:We should ban everyone whose first or last name starts with an "a". Alan, I hope you strongly consider this. I think checkers could really flourish if this happens.
Hilarious Josh.... keep up the good work ....

In other words, unsubstantiated allegations (as I've said before in a prior post). Such posts publicly impact both the reputation and integrity of the Ellisons.

That's what for.

The public nature of the posts is the real problem for both the individuals involved and for the ACF.

Also, the question I have is, if Mr. Addante has a dog in this fight, why isn't he posting his own stuff and fighting his own battles? That would only seem right. Just curious.

Gary Jenkins/jaguar72
I agree Gary, it is very easy to be smug and stupid and post innuendos about others without any proof...
n1ck wrote: I would like to address why I did not play out my final round.....
I believe there is a very high probability, close to 95% (no calculations) that Gene gave you the games/game. This leaves 5% which is the brink in confidence intervals where error is large enough to be considered. So this means, as unlikely as it is for you to legitimately get 2 wins, against your brother, as tournament directors, lopsided opening, even in skill, blitz games………it’s just barely possible. So, would I risk my life betting that you cheated, no I wouldn’t. But, I think your brother cheated to give you wins.
Mr Nick Addante WHAT A LOAD OF HOGWASH !!!!!!
95% sure of what????
last i checked we are innocent UNTIL proven guilty...
so provide EVIDENCE or shut up and stop blabbering innuendo...

if YOU don't play the last round .... WHO's fault is it that you didnt get more points in that round??? if YOU take the easy way out... WHO's fault is it you didn't win the tournament?? All this whole distasteful episode has proven is that most online players are a bunch of rude, gossiping little sore losers with 98% accuracy ...
cheers

Alex_Moiseyev wrote:Nick, all after all - thanks for playing with me on Kurnik last night and giving me a chance to hit first time in my life 2000 rating. Now you can quit

On serious note - many very potential young players quit in the past 10 years, you are not first in line and obviously - not the last one ! However, I propose you to postpone quiting and still play in National. You are good GAYP player and have all chances to be among top finishers in any Division. Donno ... the only way to prove pudding - eat it !

Good luck you in your life journey.

Usually, when I am playing in tournaments - I am zombi most part of day, 6 AM and 6 PM LOL except time when I am playing. Actual play takes alot of enrgy out.

If everything goes fine, myself and Fredo still plan to attend the Nationals this summer.
Very interesting democratic solution. Kurnink Checkers Federation (KCF) banned Nick from playing in real ty's but delegated you and Fredo. Where is the logic ???
I am playing checkers, not chess.
