Me and Tim Laverty reached preliminary agreement to play World Title Match at the end of May around Memorial Day in North Carolina. There will be a small adjustment to match format formula and number of games. In 2008 we supposed to play 16 games only. This year we'll play 16 games but if score will be even after 16 games, match will be extended by 4 more games. Tim proposed and I accepted this change.

JR is working on details right now and will keep us inform here.

There is only one way to prove pudding - eat it ! The best should win.

On serious note, JR is working on bid right now and I think he is a primary source and money collector. I hope he will respond you here where and how to send money.

I try to support all of the major tournaments, and try even harder to support World Championship Matches. We must support ourselves, as it seems we might never have a major corporate sponsor for the game.....(and this is in no way disrespecting the sponsors that we do have now)....I am referring to the type of sponsorship that enables the other major entertainment entities here in America, i.e., Tennis, Nascar, Boxing, Sports Team franchises, touring musical acts, etc., etc. to have million dollar payouts to its superstars.
I look back at the contributors list for World Title Matches from the past....particularly from the pre-ACF days of the ACA, when the playing fraternity itself got together and put up a prize for the Champions to battle it out. Sometimes hundreds of players would donate....even a dollar each...which would be around $10.00 today, and it would make a decent prize for the players.
I have seen the list of contributors for the last few Title matches...and I hate to admit it, and don't want to shoot our own efforts in the leg, but .......it was downright pathetic.
Wafflehouse coupons aside, , let's make it worthwhile for Alex and Tim to have this WCM....I'll give the first twenty-five dollars, as soon as I know where to send it.....

Many thanks to all contributors - present and future.I wish I can contribute here, but I am on another side of barricade - I have to play and thanks people for supporting one more checkers event.

11 man ballott is very respectable and honorable style and title and I am proud of holding it today and will do all my best to retain. Many good players had this title and played World Title Matches by 11 man ballott. All after all, this style simply means - we play only what we've seem and whoever understand and plays checkers better, have advantage in this style.

Even running this year event on low profile, we still have some expances outside of cash price, especially gas expances, food for players etc

I want to thanks again everyone, including our oversea collegeaus, who contributed and willing to contribute to this event.
