Congratulations Lindus. You're well on your way to emulating your late father's famous five English Open Championships in a row! Hugh

Re: English Open
Tony Boyle told me that Lindus Edwads won ahead of Danny Oliphant and Con Boyle.
He reported a total of 17 players.
Congratulations to Lindus Edwards, to Danny and Con Boyle.
I just hope games and results will be shown here or in the EDA journal or somewhere else.

Re: English Open
Hi Lindus,Hi all,
Yes, managed to successfully defend the title. It was due to sheer luck of course.
I will post the full results in a couple of hours as I have to go out at the moment.
Best wishes,
Lindus.
I think its only considered luck if it happens once
Congratulations,
Shane

Re: English Open
Congrats to you Lindus, it's been nearly 30 years since I've seen you. As good of a player as you were then it's no surprise to me that you are winning English championships.

Thank you Eric and Jeff. Yes, about thirty years since we last met Jeff. I recall that time very well when you played and beat Andrew Knapp for the World Youth Championship title at Bristol, England. I can see Andrew now as he played 9-14 with red in every game and 23-18 with white against your 11-15. I posted a copy of a newspaper cutting and a photograph of my own on my site which you have no doubt seen concerning that event. If not I will send you the link. It was also a pleasure for me to meet your uncle John Webster at the International Match in 1989 at Weston-super-Mare. Great memories.

No doubt Andrew is the reason I know the Cross as well as I do.
