This post comes from Alex under JR id.

Just couple comments ...

1) In first opening white move technically was 23-19 but once piece 23 was removed, white played 26-23 "in the same directions"

2) We are playing with rule "Opening is abonded (not played and replaced) only if both players agreed to do this". Based on my 11 man ballot experience (matches with Elbert Lowder, Tim Laverty and USA 11 man ballot Nationals) it was first time when players had disagreement. I still believe (unless someone prove otherwise) that my judgemet was accurate and this opening is playable and not losing for white as Tim thought when we picked the opening.

Teal Stanley as well as Tim Laverty and other top players who observed this tournament, commented on the level at which Alex plays, he seems to see every mistake and takes advantage of it. He doesn't make mistakes, or very few, he is at the top of his game. We checked progress of each game with lap-top along while watching and he creates and forces situations where opponent is always under pressure and has to make many omtd moves. An awesome and exciting Grand-Master! Everyone should make an effort to watch the up coming 3-Move WTM between (Borghetti vs Moiseyev) in Cleveland, OH

Match was scheduled for 4 day/16 games, but with no incentive to continue Laverty conceded the win to Moiseyev after the 12th game. The tournament was actually closer than results reflect, since two occations Tim mistakenly touched a piece but was gentlemen enough to suffer the consequences rather than renige even when Alex wasn't present on one of the situations, costing him a possible win and a possible draw instead of a loss.

We appreciate all the help and contributions we received and pledges yet to arrive, sponsors put up these monies in good faith.

Tim Laverty and Alex Moiseyev expressed their appreciation as well. We had a number of checker players to visit the tournament throughout the three days. Thank You, JR Smtih

Technically, it was only one "wrong touch" today in 3rd game. And yesterday Tim made a serious mistake which he immediately saw after he made a move, but it wasnt a "wrong touch".

I want to thank everyone who helped organise this match - Director and Referee Jr Smith, his wife Gail, Referee assistant Teal Stanley, Seafood Restaurant owner, all other sponsors and contributors. Without their signifcant efforts and kindness we won't have this match.

I also want to thanks Tim for giving me competition in this match. He did his best and it forced me to play with full strength to win this match. I am satisfy with score (indeed!) and quality of my games in this match.

Congratulations to Alex Moiseyev for defending his title.

I may be wrong, but Oldbury held both the GAYP and 3-move titles, albeit not at the same time.
Did he hold the 3-move title?
As fas as I remember he defeated Grover for the title, right?

Yes, Derek Oldbury was the only one who hold all three major titles at different time.

Hey, I'm totally confuse. What happened with A. Long - he is not on your list of champions. In addition, it seems like Oldbury played only one match and never defended his title.

I don't see yet a "clear track" and line of champions. There is some gap and hole.

Anyway, thanks alot for your esearch. This is very important to find a true.
