Eric:
I saidI TRUST IN YOUTH...
I said:LETS HAVE A COPRESIDENT...
I said: YOUTH IS THE FUTURE, THEY HAVE NEW IDEAS, YOUTH IS BRAVE!

I see you already started with new ideas, you already started with actions and you have worked a lot with ratings and your wonderfull site, get YOUNG ones to help you, you say we are old and we dont get to move our butt... you are right! That is why you have to work harder and one day the ACF CHECKERS FEDERATION WILL BE REPRESENTED BY A YOUNGER ONE...you think the old ones don't have a life? all we have it!! that is why is so hard to represent the federation, it takes a lot of time and effort, is not a job for one day, and now there is internet that helps a lot, imagine in the old times..I tell you, the old ones were young too and had new ideas but maybe sometimes they had to put things in a balance and the family was heavier or job or whatever...
SHOW US YOU CAN DO IT!!! I GIVE MY VOTE OF CONFIDENCE TO YOU!

Thank you for your words Irma and as always I will do what I can.

Ted, thank you for your support as well. I do not know how much time you have on your hands but I always need help with little tedious things and will eventually need help with advertising which will require at least 5 people with a working computer.
I do spend money out of pocket for many things to get done that I do not have time for. For instance I have a co-worker helping me update ratings. If you want to donate any $$ you can go to cross-board.com/checkers and there are paypal donate button and I swear 100% of it will go to helping checkers and/or the ACF directly. I do not want to take money out of the pocket of ACF though so if you have to pick them or me then give it to them. I am going to have my last smoke and retire to bed now. Good night ACF

Bobby, I also have tried starting my own club. There is a site called meetup.com. You can set up your own group there , attract people to it and get them to join, and arrange meetings for the future. It contains flyers and other advertisement stuff. It cost money to join, but may be worth it. It has not worked very well for me yet. I have tried advertising on craigslist and facebook, but not so much luck. Though I do have 3 or 4 people interested, it is a start! Anyway, I like to know your ideas, perhaps we can help each other out! Actually, help from anyone would be appreciated!

You may be onto something here Eric, wise beyond your years I do believe..
I think Hitler felt the same way as you..

.
Why do people here always over react and villify others just because they disagree with their views....
kkelly, i think your Hitler comparison, is not only uncalled for, but a gross exaggeration and it doesn't help the exchange of ideas here.....
Geez....live and let live people.... when are we going to learn that we are not all the same, AND THAT IS OK !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Danny "the tolerance prophet" Alvarez ..... if you disagree with me i'll feed you to the crocs :)
There is a point to kkelly's post..........and, in considering the underlying idea, it is certainly a subject of serious, calculated debate.
I personally believe that the younger players should, indeed, be "catered to", but not at the expense of the "senior" players who have kept the game's organizational efforts ongoing throughout the last (many) years.
With that opinion being offered...
I would just ask kkelly to consider the comparison of the current promotional efforts to Hitler's demented efforts.
There are members of this Forum, and members of the playing fraternity (particularly in Europe but also here in America) with us who have felt the direct effects of Hitler and Nazism, even in this day and age, 65 years removed from the fact.... many players here who have lost family members, and who still live with the reminders of that very dark period in time.....
It is just bad mojo to compare ideas formulated with the notion of advancing the game of Checkers with Hitler's ideas....

Greetings:

On behalf of the promotion of Checkers, I am going to propose a site for the 2012 ACF National Tournament:

My proposed site is.................

The Playboy Mansion.

Located in Los Angeles, California, the Playboy Mansion comes equipped with a large game room.

It is also the host of the annual Celebrity Poker Tournament.

I think I might write to Hugh Hefner for his thoughts on this idea.

Best Wishes,

Talk about not being able to concentrate on a checkers game.... Given the average age of a tournament checkers player..... I think we might have quite a few casualties.
