I'll give this a go and start it off with a couple of answers.

1. South Africa

2. Amsterdam, Holland :arrow: Koninklijke Bibliotheek - National Library of the Netherlands acquired the draughts library (500 titles) of G. L. Gortmans in 1956, following this many more draughts enthusiasts donated books on draughts and checkers which makes it (according to their web-site) the largest draughts collection in the world.

My guess for Buffalo, New York would be the George F. Wales collection.
