I and many other people across the word know who is Eric Strange ... But who is Amy Winehouse ? I can't recall this name among checkers players.

Anyway, if she has birthday today or recently, I wish her the happiest birthday, improve her checkers abilities and one day play like Eric or even better

Amy Wino was just another overhyped dullard who read the tabloids claiming she was a singer! She foolishly believed them. Where she really excelled was with her prodigious liking for alcohol and illegal narcotics. She often stayed overnight in her majesties custodial cells until the police deemed her fit for release back into civilisation. Hoping this is of some help!

Thanks Tommy, Tiny Tim would have beat the pants off both Amy and Elvis as far as singing goes. I have not heard of his demise. Maybe he was above all that stuff!

Alex
Greetings Alex:

If you conduct a Google search on Amy Winehouse, you will be able to read and learn quite a bit about her.

She was also a heavy smoker, not only of tobacco, but also of marijuana and crack cocaine.

She was also diagnosed with early stage emphysema in a hospital back in 2008.

Emphysema has been linked with tobacco smoking alone.

Although I was never a fan of Amy Winehouse and her singing style, I still consider her death a tragedy.

I consider any death which occurs prematurely, as a result of any combination of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs, as a tragedy.

Alex, have you quit smoking yet?

If not, I hope you set a date soon and embark upon the task to do so.

In order to be successful, you have to give it your top priority, even above and beyond your quest to maintain your world championship checker titles.

I quit smoking in 1996, and the only way I was able to succeed in doing so was to make it my number one priority.

Good luck!

Best Wishes,

Dennis Cayton

Well Denis its a tall order if yu are addicted to something Amy W was addicted to drugs and watever else Moiseyev is only addicted to nicotine i know his misses said one draughts player was enuff in the household ,but that wont kill yu i think she missed a trick there, much more importantly one smoker in the house is one too many and if she was more switched on demanded that he stop polluting the house and his childrens lunges with tobacco smoke.I mean have yu ever seen how much smoke comes from just one cigerette in an en closed space.

Unfort for me it took
a heart attack last Sept.........to make me see clearly
I know its not easy ............and ive urged Moiseyev to think of the consequences ,but really it s not easy so all i can say is when Moiseyv gets HIS heart attack then he might consider my advice. But hes a classic caseover weight ,unfit, He might not not see it thru.

IT TAKES A GOOD MAN TO QUIT.Well ask yuself just one question...............DO YU WANNA SEE YU GRAND-CHILDREN GROW UP? iM NOT PREACHING.....................GIVE AN HONEST ANSWER?

Hi Tommy,

I hear what you are saying.

It takes an ex-smoker to know and understand the addictive power of nicotine and how difficult it is to withdraw and quit.

I was very sorry to hear about your heart attack last September. Apparently, I missed that piece of news. Had I known, I would have sent you a get well card. I hope your recuperation is going successfully.

I have also had an ongoing weight problem for the past fifteen years. A few weeks ago, I decided to get serious about it, as I am not getting any younger, at my current age of 61. It's either now or never.

I have cut out beef and pork and mostly eat fish and a little bit of chicken. I have cut back my portion sizes and am eating more vegetables. I have stopped going to fast food restaurants, which means no more fast food hamburgers and french fries. The only snacks I am eating right now are apples, raw almonds, and raw walnuts. I have also cut out alcohol and the martinis I used to so dearly love for many years.

Like smoking, this has to be a lifetime commitment. Merely going on a diet is only a temporary measure. Instead, I am making what I hope will become some permanent changes in my eating habits. It I stick to it, the weight should come off in due time.

One doctor is trying to talk me into becoming a vegetarian, but I am not so sure that I want to go route. But I am not ruling it out for the future.

Sorry for the tangent.

Where are my manners? This topic is supposed to be about Eric Strange's birthday.

Happy Birthday, Eric!

Did I read somewhere that you were a smoker too? If so, then you will hear no lectures from me. I was a smoker at your age too.

Let me close by thanking you for all of your contributions and hard work you are providing for the game of checkers.

All The Best,

Dennis Cayton

Happy birthday Eric!

Shall we die of diarrhea???......jejejeje if we want to live lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time, stop eating, drinking, smoking what u like, start eating, drinking what u dont like....miss all what made u happy, I think the body was made to get outworn with time, is only the cover we have, my neighbor died when he was 32 and he was playing tennis at that moment, nobody can guarantee us we will live long and happy if we stop doing what we like, maybe we die of stress, no?
