Re: Correction to John Acker's facebook post
Get my name off this list. I never joined any so called ONlINE CHECKER ORG.
I do not want to be associated in any form or fashion with this online club.
I neither desire nor want any critique of my playing from any of you. How can I be rated by such a club when I am not a member and have played hardly any games with anybody except real players who I know in real life? I play online to practice and practice only.
Take me off your list now.

John Acker deserves credit. He tied me one game against one of my best pet lines. Made me think out a hard draw. Second game I won, but he played perfectly until the last move. Just because he may have struggled against a better player doesn't mean he sucks.

Re: Correction to John Acker's facebook post
Well now, let's sum this up.Chee Xiong wrote:You may have to quit kurnik if you don't want yourself to be ranked Gober especially since you like to put your opinion in on online players. And you've played me on kurnik
1. I make comments about online checker club, so I am especially subject to required membership in
this little "Mickey Mouse Club"
2. If I don't quit Kurnick, I am subject to "Micky Miouse Club's" rating system. Could I ask, what is the
rating formula and who is in charge of ratings. It has been stated that these ratings are official for
the little club. Are you the sole ratings guru Chee??
3. I have played the mighty Chee. If I did it certainly wasn't at my request and I you must have sat
my table to play. Was that one of the forced ratings sessions? I wasn't aware. I can correct this
error, however, I will only play people I personally know and only allow those who I know in my
room. Hence, kick out any nick I don't recognize.
In summation, you don't run Kurnick and I will play as I see fit. I want to quit your little forced association in your MIcky Mouse Club. I like playing my friends in Kurnick. And so you don't get the wrong idea, your ratings are meaningless and I could care less what you do or don't rate me. I have more trophies than my wife cares to dust now, from real tournaments.
I do however care about being associated with a bunch of foul mouthed thugs, who use laugingly such terms as "forced rape" , and tie it to sodomy when they win a checker game online. What a fine little club you have. Take me off your list !!!!!

Re: Correction to John Acker's facebook post
The stupid bickering from both sides needs to stop, it doesn't help either side, makes both look stupid, and doesn't make either side right.
The offline players need to understand that past all the stupid trash talk and self-boasting, quite a lot of the internet players are really good. Nobody knows how good of course, but several are for sure master level players. Playing online can be fun and it can be good practice.
Online players need to understand that playing online is not a true testament of skill. The only way you can prove you are not cheating in an online game is to play speed games. Speed games are fun, but you can not play a true quality game of checkers in a couple of minutes. Even slower online games are full of distractions, whether it be TV, music, kids, dogs, friends, food, you name it. Aside from that, there is no way of knowing what the person across from you is doing.
Do I think all online players cheat? Of course not. Like I said, I think several are really good players, but the point is, you don't know. Cheating can be done with a program, using books, or even having a checker board set out so you can play out moves ahead of time. All of these things are misrepresenting a person's true skill level.
At the end of the day, I'm not even going to bother trying to figure out who does or does not cheat in some way or form, because it doesn't matter. They are only hurting themselves. Online rankings are fun and all, but having a list of supposed great online players doesn't really mean anything, because you can't prove anything. At a real tournament, you can sit down face to face with your opponent, and see what that person is doing the entire time and play a game of checkers to see who is really the better player.

Re: Correction to John Acker's facebook post
I wanted to add something. Nothing I said means you have to prove yourself. Some are happy just playing online for the fun of it and there is nothing wrong with that. It cost a lot of money to attend tournaments depending on where you live and although I think it is fun playing tournaments, not everybody online shares that idea.
Its when you shove a list of supposed online master level players in everybody's face like they are supposed to accept it as fact, without any proof, other than online timed games, and a handful of slower games, where nobody can see what either player is doing behind their computer.
You have to understand why offline players would balk at such a list, even if these online players would beat most offline players. That is the point where I think most offline players would expect a little more proof than what somebody did in an online game.

Re: Correction to John Acker's facebook post
Clayton,
What you have said is well accepted and I have defended the online players a lot in the past.
However, it has become ridiculous now.
My primary desire is not to be associated with them in any way.
I never gave my permission to be associated with their little club, and when they pick names that have been around for a long time (real names by the way) and include them in a list. They are trying to put a degree of acceptability on their methods and "MIckey Mouse Checker club". The trash talk is called trash talk for a reason. It comes from trash and a trashy mouth.
Why don't they use their real names?
I don't want to be associated with kids that call winning an online game "rape", "whore" ect.
AND NO IT ISNT ALL IN FUN
I just want them to leave me out of it and leave me alone. When I ask for that, the Supreme Leader of the bunch tells me to not play at Kurnick !! The unmitigated gall !! And the trash talk on this ACF site toward Danny is terrible. I realize the National is going on, but this Chee needs to be banned.
Best Regards,
Wayne

You are right Clayton .... It does make us look petty and stupid.
It is difficult to walk away from bullies, because they take it as a sign of weakness. But maybe that's what I should do. Like Josh said nobody will get banned, and they already know that. That they can say whatever and there won't be any consequences.
