OH vs PA match.

Post by Alex_Moiseyev »

I am wondering about one thing ...

Due to fact that since I immigrated with my family to USA in October 1991 and living 10 months in New York, I spent with my family more than 10 years in Pennsylvania Pittsburgh since 1992 until end of 2002, I can consider Pennsylvania as my "home state". Based on this fact I can join with PA team against OH team if all other members of both teams approve this trade.

While livng in Pennsylvania I joined Anglo-American style of Checkers in 1996, joined my first Checkers Club in New Castle and met with my first checkers coach and friend Anthony Kozenski - many years PA Champion and outstanding player. I used to be Pennsylvania State Champion since 1997 until 2002.

Just an idea which could make this match a bit more attractive and competitive.

Regards,

Alex

Why not ... good idea. I accept this offer with pleasure. The best format could be Scheveningen system - similar to what we play in our International matches USA vs UK & I: each player from one team plays against each player in other team.

3 players - 3 rounds. We can make it in 1-2 day - the shortest. One year play on PA territory, other year - on OH territory.

How about......we trade 1 Wenberg, 2 Hinnershitz's, a set of 2-move cards and a bunch of Macdonalds coupons for one Moiseyev....if that is not enough, stuff it.
Okay, if you twist our arms, we'll throw in next years 3rd round draft from the minors division ........

Make it Waffle House coupons and we'll talk.

Obviously my skills as a negotiating agent are sub-par......sheesh.
I probably could've lured Alex myself with said coupons...........

I would accept John offer to be a referee. I think the number players represent each team, can be increase by adding John and Steve to OH team and Neil and Jay H. to PA team. Having 5 people in each team make it very unteresting and attractive.

Another interesting option could be - I also can play with all members of both teams and their (not mine) points will be added to total team points - identify which team does better against poor Alex

We have to choose time and place. What about February when no other checkers activities stared yet ?

Alex,I would not advise going against Ohio. Just take a look at how Clevelanders treat Lebron James now.

Lebron is chasing the american dream... he left for the money.... there isn't any loyalty left in sports anymore, Clevelanders shouldn't have been surprised at his departure.... as Lebron said himself "no need fo hatin' now"

:)

I wouldn't be so quick to trade away Neil. He did just win the minors at nationals and finished ahead of me at the PA state. We were tied on points and split our games, but he was ahead on honor points.

What do you like about checkers?: Always enjoyed the game and the challenge it brings. Just you and your opponent battling your minds. Also, it's just a friendly game that people can just sit and have fun playing while communicating with each other.
