Woman 3-moves WCM 2011

Post by Alex_Moiseyev »

Several minues ago I received an email from Hoja Durdyev with interesting news.

1) Amangul was married recently and her new last name now is Mrs. Berdiyeva

2) Hoja also asked me (and gave his permission) to post email (part of WORD document) from WCDF President Hugh Devlin, Ireland, regarding upcoming world title match.

3) Hoja also forwarded to me an apologise letter from Hurmagul Toyeva to WCDF where she was sorry regarding wrong steps taken by her and accusing WCDF. Hurmagul said in this letter that she was encouraged by Mrs. Jan Mortimer by taken these wrong steps and she was young enough to recognise the real reason and intrigues hidden behind scene.

==================================================================================

World Three Move Women’s Championship Match 2011

Amangul Berdiyeva (Turkmenistan) Vs Hurmagul Toyeva (Turkmenistan)

The match between Amangul Berdiyeva (nee Durdyeva) (Turkmenistan) and challenger Hurmagul Toyeva (Turkmenistan) will take place at the “Balkan Welayat” (a specialized draughts sports school) in Balkanabat, Turkmenistan, from 3rd – 7th August 2011. The match referee will be Altyn Gurbanova (Turkmenistan) assisted by Gultach Madanova (Turkmenistan). The match will be contested over 20 games. A match fund has been established and anyone contributing a minimum of 10 pounds, 15 EUROS or $20 will receive an advanced copy of the games. (These games will not be published until March 2012). Donations can be made via any WCDF Executive Board member.

We send our best wishes to Amangul on her recent marriage.

Sincerely yours,
Hugh Devlin (President of WCDF)

Mr. Alex, thank you for the good news! You could have skipped your personal attack in point #3. Every long-term reader of the ACF forum knows that Mrs. Jan Mortimer is true blue. --George Hay

I agree wholeheartedly George... if Jan or anyone else has done anything and their actions now means there is an actual match when this should have happened a long long time ago, then Jan deserves a bloody medal in my book. Either way we could have done away with the innuendo.... specially considering the official nature of the correspondence.

cheers and i look forward to see how the match goes.

There is no any personal attack in my post at all - Hurmagul appologise against WCDF that she took wrong advice from wrong person - Mrs. Jan Mortimer. Where is personal attack ? This is just very general -don't listen wrong person, thats it. Nothing personal against anyone.

Jan is my good friend for long time, I wish her best and she just did a wrong thing giving a bad advice to young girl. I hope my post help Jan to correct her behavior and being better person who earn respect.

I think Hurmagul letter to WCDF some day will be release.

One of the reason I posted information about Hurmagul letter to WCDF - because this is opened checkers forum, Jan knows many checkers players, and my post is a serious warning to everyone - be careful and cautious when she gives some advices, because sometimes she is not a very honest person or make mistakes like she did couple years ago when she tried to steal title without playing match.

If you and others want to support this match - send your contributions. This is best you can do.

I think you right - in Ohio (West) we look things differently than in the East.

We should probably work on things which are in common, not differ us. On positive note I should say that this is certainly very good news that this match will take place and restore a good tradition of woman world title matches. The last one was played among Patricia and Amangul in 2007 and this yeaar we'll have another match among Amangul and Hurmagul.

Alex if your original post was not a personal attack (i never said it was) this one certainly is...
Jan is one of the most honest people i know in this forum. and she didn't try to steal any title... the WCDF is to blame on how that whole saga unfolded....
Jay H wrote: It must be a culture thing..............
Sorry but i don't accept this as a 'culture thing' certain things Alex does could be construed that way...
this is not one of them.... rudeness, disdain, arrogance are the same here, in China, In Russia, in Africa the world over... accusing anyone of being dishonest and trying to steal is not something 'lost in translation' and he doesn't deserve a way out.

the fact you guys let him get away with it is a different matter, sometimes i do wonder how benign you would think him if he was residing in another country and not USA.
cheers

Jan is true blue. She did NOT try to steal the Women's World Championship. Mr. Alex's trash talking criticism of kiwinurse just goes to show that "no good deed goes unpunished!"

No doubt, Jan's prompting was the inspiration in achieving the current match arrangements.
Congratulations Jan - Well done !!

The rest is just sour grapes.

Any news of the financial bid, I wonder ?

George, Danny and Liam,

Good on you all for immediately defending Jan! This is as it should be and it needed to be done.

Unsubstantiated, unproven and malicious (IMO) allegations of serious wrongdoing should not be tolerated on this very public Forum. It is simply not right from both a moral and a legal standpoint. How can you possibly defend yourself when someone casually announces to the world that you have done wrong? You are left having to prove your innocence, an impossible task.

I will repeat: this is a public Forum; it's like television or a newspaper and can have the same impact.

I thought we would have learned that from what was done to Gene and Gary Ellison.

Emperor Julian stated “If it suffices to accuse, what will become of the innocent?”

The good news is that a match agreement has been reached but it seems to me that the third remark only serves to leave a stain on this good news and was totally unnecessary.

Alex, I appriciate your bringing this to our attention but would it not have been much better to have just limited your report to remarks 1 and 2?

Too often the reputations of good people have been attacked here on this forum and that's sad!

You got it, Pal. Exactly.

William Shakespeare said it pretty well too:

Good name in man and woman, dear my lord,
Is the immediate jewel of their souls.
Who steals my purse steals trash; 'tis something, nothing;
'Twas mine, 'tis his, and has been slave to thousands;
But he that filches from me my good name
Robs me of that which not enriches him,
And makes me poor indeed.

Othello, Act 3, scene 3

There you have it.
