White wins by 32. ... 11-16!
There are two alternatives now:
I) 33. 19-23 is easily refuted by the shot 33. ... 16-19, 34. 24-23 (what else?), and now white has
34. ... 19-24!, 35. 20x27 32x14 ans White wins

II) 33. 18-23 32-28! (watch how helpless the man on 19 and 23 now look agains tthe king on 16!)
34. 20-24 7-3(K), 35. 24-27 16-20, 36.27-31(K) 20-24! wins the man and the game.

(B)
This bad tactic loses, as it exchanges down to a completly lost endgame, in which red has a backward man on 1, and white has the move and a majority of kings.

It was a surprise to me that Miki could evaluate this ending as drawn!
39.22-18 holds a draw, but one in which red still has to fight, as white will hold a majority of kings for a very long time, and red has to avoid exchanges to lost endings.

Summary:

Red played a sideline of the Octopus and white got a superior endgame, in which red allowed a win that white, in his haste to make a majority of kings, overlooked, but Aley still won, as Miki traded kings to a completly lost endgame!
