Any news from the German Open?

Just came back from Korbach.


Walter Celani (Italy) won the German Open with 21 points, just like Igor Martynov, who became national champion with the worse tie breaker.

I was third with 20, leading until the last round when I drew 4th place finisher Thomas Juergens twice, but Walter and Igor defeated their opponents in both games.

National youth Champion is Benjamin Krane (Korbach)

Congratulation to Walter Celani and Igor Martynov, who were the best players.

Ingo, many thnaks for information. Congratulations to Wwinners: Walter and Igor and all other participants. Well done. I am very glad to see that German Open toruney status and overturn consitantly improve from year to year. WCDF now should think seriously about potential International Team Cup.

It is also important to see that popularity of Anglo-American style of checkers is growing among Italian players and I hope Miki Borghetti success in QT and last WCM added to this popularity.
