Greetings John:
Jay made no such accusation or claim.
His original words were as follows:
Jay H wrote: ......makes me wonder if my donations even went to the functions named, or were "absorbed" into the Millhone-Beckwith-LoConti fund...
This is neither an accusation nor a claim.
The word he used was "wonder." He merely expressed a thought which crossed his mind. He did not express it as a factual statement.
JohnAcker wrote:I demand that these accusations either be substantiated with real evidence or withdrawn, as they constitute libel and must not stand on the ACF Forum.
Once again, no accusations were made. Jay merely expessed a thought and not a statement of fact.
Next, what right do you have to "demand" that another poster withdraws the expression of a mere thought? Are you now the self-appointed officer of the American Checker Federation's "thought police?"
Finally, the thoughts that Jay expressed do not constitute or satisfy the legal standards of "libel."
Suppose a person writes the following statement on a message board:
"Sometimes I
wonderif President Obama is a Communist."
This is not an accusation. This is not a claim. This is not libel. This is merely the expression of a thought. It is not a statement of fact. Note the word "wonder", which I highlighted in red.
This also applies to your accusations of libel against Jay.
In fact, there may be more evidence of libel from your end, by specifically and emphatically accusing Jay of libel, based upon nothing more than the expression of a mere thought, and which was not expressed as a factual statement.
JohnAcker wrote:Oh please. What were you implying, if not that the funds were mismanaged?
Note your use of the word "implying."
To merely "imply" something does not meet the legal standards of libel.
I suggest you read the following to help you brush up on your legal education:

With all due respect, I would like to further suggest that you drop this argument while you are still behind.
Very Sincerely,
