Post by Alex_Moiseyev »

As of today only games for first four rounds are processed and available. I will continue these series when other rounds arise.

=============================================================================
Round 3.

#1. Rd.3, G1. A. Bishop vs R. Tovagliaro.

White to move.

24--20 is OK, but ... 15-11??, 10-14, 24x15, 16-19 etc RW

#2. Rd3, G1. A. Berdiyeva vs F. Kareta
Image
White to move and draw.

After losing 11. ... 32-27? earlier in the game, Amangul had an easy win but missed it couple times and Filip Kareta had the following draws (see full text of game) 20. 16-12 & 22. 21-25. In position on diagram Filip last time had a chance to drew the game by simple 2-7 trade but demonstrated exceptional stability  and missed it again by 20-16? After then Amangul finished it accurately and scored a win without any missings.

#3. Rd3, G1. L. Kondlo vs J. Morrison

1. 11-15 23-18 2. 8-11 27-23 3. 10-14 23-19 4. 14x23 19x10 5. 7x14 26x19 6. 3-7 19-15 7. 11x18 22x15 8. 4-8 25-22 9. 9-13 24-19 10. 13-17 22x13 11. 7-11 30-26 12. 11x18 32-27 13. 8-11 19-15 14. 18-23 27x9 15. 11x18 29-25 16. 5x14 26-22 17. 18-23 22-18 18. 23-26 18x9 19. 26-30 9-5 20. 6-10 25-22 21. 30-25 22-17 22. 25-22 28-24 23. 2-6 17-14 24. 10x17 21x14 25. 6-9 13x6 26. 1x17 24-19 27. 22-18 5-1 28. 17-22 1-6 29. 22-25 6-2 30. 25-30 2-7 31. 30-25 7-11 32. 25-22 19-15 33. 12-16 11x20 34. 18x11 20-24 35. 11-16 24-28 36. 16-20 Draw

Nothing were missing in this wonderful game and both players played it right, but during the game Lubabalo three times (!) find an opportunity to sacrifice piece ! I am giving you here just full text of game and you can play it on your own and enjoy ... as I did.

#4. Rd3, G2. R. Tovagliaro vs A. Bishop

White to move and draw.

Nice one: 21-17* here drew the game, but 11-17 as played - loses.

#5. Rd3, G2. C. Ciampi vs I. Martinov
Image
Red to move and draw.

Red already have problems here but draw is still available after 20-24*, 29-25, 6-9, 17-13, 2-7*, 13x6, 14-18 etc Draw. Instead, Mr. Ciampi played 11-16? and lost after 26-22, 20-24, 129-25, 16-20, 31-26 etc WW

#6. Rd3, G2. S. Scarpetta vs B. Durdyev
Image
Red to move and win.

Sergio missed here a wonderful win by 3-7* and eventually white runs out of moves. In game Sergio played 2-7 and game continued: 24-20, 1-6, 32-27, 6-9, 19-15, 10x19, 23x16, 27-24, 19-23, 26x19, 7-10, 19-16, 10-14, 16x7, 3x10, 18-15, 10x19, 24x15, 14-18, 20-16, 18x25, 16-12 Draw !

#7. Rd3, G2. G. Owens vs I. Zachos.

I give up !!! Very complicated game lasted 84 moves with alot of missing opportunities from both sides. I can't select position for diagram. Hence, Ingo is welcome to annotate the game

Right, my game against Garret was badly played, especially from me, but Garret made the last blunder and rejected to win.
