Ratings Anyone??

Post by Chexhero »

So is the ACF going to continue with the ratings? I am aware Eric Strange was doing them, but then stopped. Though he claims he has handed them over. If that is the case can we continue with them? I would gladly volunteer to do them if no one else wants to, I would just someone to explain to me how to do them. :)

Yea, I am serious about doing this. I am pretty solid in math and know how to use Microsoft Excel. Considering their is a basic formula to be used I am sure I can manage with a little bit of guidance in the beginning. I know ACF had their own formula, was Eric using the same one?

I was using the Elo rating system which is a known standard for calculating ratings Joe. Email me @ eric.j.strange@gmail.com and I will tell you what you need to know and give you anything you will need to make this easy for you.

Attached are the ratings Eric sent in July. It's my fault they're not up.
I'll update the site with them this weekend, though I would prefer to have the raw crosstable data and recalculate them. Not because I don't trust Eric's calculation, but rather I would LOVE to integrate the crosstables back into the ACF site. Were you just using the crosstables on JR's site Eric or do you have some other ones?

I'll work on setting up the ratings to be updated from this site again, managing them through Excel doesn't make much sense to me. I think I still have something thats pretty close, but stopped working on it once Eric got his pages up and running.
