What do you like about checkers?: Checkers is a game of pure logic.

What do you like about checkers?: I love that the concept of checkers is so simple, yet the games have a complex beauty that comes alive during play.

Thanks John. It was a fun tournament and a good tournout!

I still need a lot of work. I missed a probable draw against Tim and then I pretty much just handed him the second game on a silver platter!

From my game with Tim (10-14, 22-18, 6-10 opening)
Silly me. I was being impatient and I took 11-7 instead of waiting with 20-16.

It was a one-day tournament. We started a little after 10 AM and finished a little after 6 PM

Our one-days are usually setup to accomodate the player who has to work and doesn't want to take off two or three days. We start playing at 10:00 so players can drive in 4 hrs if they don't want to spend for a room. Call and register on the phone and we have them paired for play. Matthew Clark, Grover Minor, and Glenn Fuquay did this, but several we thought would or usually play didn't show or call.
