Re: Interesting positions that came up in Copenhagen
I disagree - I know 32-27 is PP but it is an unusual and illogical looking move. Moves like 22-17 or 29-25 (or the 31-27 taken) look natural but all loses.JohnAcker wrote:12-16 is a weak line; white should have capitalized with 32-27 instead of 31-27. But after 31-27 10-15 x 27-24, then 2-7 wins easily for red.

Re: Interesting positions that came up in Copenhagen
Ok let me make my point very clearJohnAcker wrote:If the other moves all lose, then what exactly are you disagreeing with?
9-14
22-18
5-9
25-22 (the weak move, 24-20 is better)
12-16 (very strong move)
24-20
8-12
27-24 (here both 28-24 and 29-25 losses)
10-15
24-19 (29-25 still loses)
15-24
7-10
From here innocent looking moves like 22-17 and 29-25 loses and indeed a losing move was made.
When you said 12-16 is a weak line so I assumed you meant 12-16 was the weak move ???

Sune, you didn't say anything about first red move 9-14. Is it weak or not ?

The tournament was three move - but assuming it wasn't then 9-14 is weak since 11-15 is better. Do you disagree with my assement ?

Re: Interesting positions that came up in Copenhagen
Maybe not, it depends on very important fact - who is my opponentMostFamousDane wrote:then 9-14 is weak since 11-15 is better. Do you disagree with my assement ?
I did play 12-16 several times on serious occasion, but usually I am using a pitch line:
9-14, 22-18, 5-9, 25-22, 12-16, 24-20, 10-15 (A), 27-24, 15-19, 24x15, 16-19, 23x16, 14x23, 26x19, 11x25, 29x22, 8-12 etc
A. 8-12 looks wreckless to me and goes against my personality

You are right 8-12 is wreckless for the opponent and forces him to make a series of star moves to obtain the drawAlex_Moiseyev wrote:Maybe not, it depends on very important fact - who is my opponentMostFamousDane wrote:then 9-14 is weak since 11-15 is better. Do you disagree with my assement ?

LOL - great video - it illustrates the kind of play white has to pull to drawAlex_Moiseyev wrote:You are tough !!!MostFamousDane wrote:You are right 8-12 is wreckless for the opponent and forces him to make a series of star moves to obtain the draw![]()
