Lille 2012
I decided to open this separate topic for future discissions and details. As far as I understand - everyone pays on their own + potentiall fees from IMSA and/or FMJD.

Here is a little bit more information from bridge site
http://www.abf.com.au/events/playoffs/2 ... sLille.pdf
Personally I may need an extra business days to commit 11 man ballot World Title match, Strawberry Festival, NC & Alabama state tournaments.
Still thinking ...

Re: Lille 2012
Many my Russian friends asked me- when information about these events, Lille and Beijing, will be published on WCDF site - so they can read it and use it for references in their Federations. I said that I have no idea.
They want to play in Lille in Anglo-American Checkers event but don't have information and I can't help them because they trust and are dealing only with official sites: FMJD and WCDF
Regards,
Alex

Re: Lille 2012
Ingo, if it's not a big secret, can you update us here with the following information:
1) Does WCDF plan to use one or few electronic board in Lille ?
2) Who will be in charge of processing games after round and entering them into Internet ?
3) What kind of broadcasting / Internet recording WCDF plans to use in Lille ?
4) What kind of software WCDF plans to use in Lille to run event ... like one we used in San Remo or similar ?
5) If none of this done - does ACDF plan to require players to use clocks and record games or this is optional ?
6) Any specific requirements to dress code in Lille ?
7) Assuming we should have two different events and approximately 15-20 boards, how many Referee assistants will be on field in Lille for Anglo-American Chekers events ?
Respectfully,
Alex Moiseyev

Re: Lille 2012
Dear Alex,
happy Easter!
Plz take out your Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
It says "DON' T PANIC!"
and this is the simple answer to many questions that may get lost in details.
To try to give some answers at frist attempt I use your numbers:
1) Not so far. We don`t own any of this boards, and besides they are not cheap.
http://dgtshop.nl/index.php?option=com_ ... 9&Itemid=2
We are waiting for your donation.
2) We have not yet set up a team for Lille, but I would like to process them like in San Remo immediately during or after the rounds, and publish them with the pairings.
3) I myself plan to publish pictures and reports, and if possible to use a webcam to transmit the top board(s). But this also depends a lot on the team of officials.
4) I would prefer to use Chess Arbiter like in San Remo, at least to do the pairings. If I were selected for Lille I will have it on my Laptop, but it might be that like in Beijing FMJD or IMSA require other programs to publish the results in the format they prefer on the WMSG site.
5) Of course, clocks will be used, time limit according to the WCDF rules:
http://wcdf.wz.cz/rules.htm
6) I guess the same as in Beijing.
7) Not yet determined, but with two events planned you can guess that we need referees, a press/media officer and possible assistants. But this depends on who wants to go, and plz be patient, as I can not give you any names now.
Greetinx from rainy old Europe,

Re: Lille 2012
Just friendly remind everyone that deadline for claims to play in Lille - April 26. After this time I assume WCDF will publish a list of attendants and probably no more players will be allow to play.
National Federations, WCDF members and associates, should rush - only one day left.
Today I've got email (on Russian) from Ukraine Federation with question - how they can register and reserve places in QT in Lille. And I helped them to contact with WCDF authorities.
The only thing I don't understand - why I should do a job which other people have to do ? it''s not my responsibilities.
Contact information supposed to be posted in initial announcement.

Re: Lille 2012
Alex, thanks for assisting with the Ukraine Federation. Hugh Devlin & John Reade have been sending letters to WCDF delegates of the various federations regarding nominations (and dues). Hugh sent a communication in early April, and John sent a reminder earlier this week regarding the preliminary deadline. After collecting these initial nominations, federations will be able to submit additional WMSG nominations if openings still exist (which I think is likely).

Richard, thanks for update. The main thing is - make sure in Lille we don't have anymore a manual handling cross table and pairing.
