It is over, Alex Holmes has won the majors. What an accomplishment, he beat out 21 other major players, proven himself to be worthy of masters at next years nationals and other tournaments too.

Congratulations son! You are so awesome! I am very proud of you and your sportsmanship as well as the incredible performance this week. You are probably the youngest person to ever win the Major division in the Nationals! I will be proud to take lessons from you.

Congratulations to

Alex Holmes, :king:

US Junior Champion and now recognized master player. :-D

There is no way back now to the major days. Surely Conan Doyle was right, when he described that already the young Holmes showed exceptional combinative talents.

From Alex to Alex:

Congratulations !!!

I'll try to do my best and double "Alex Win Nationals".

Today was a bloody morning in Master Division:

I won 2nd opening against Tim Laverty,
James Morrison won 3rd game against Lubabalo Kondlo (4th game draw)
Larry Keen and Ron King everyone won a piece: Ron won 3rd game but Larry came back in last game and drew 2nd opening.

We are going now to Rd.7 where I should play with Joe Moore, Ron plays with Richard Hallet, Lubabalo plays with Jack Francis and Jim Morrison plays with Larry Keen.

Everything is still ahead.

At the end of the day me and Ron got 3 points each (Ron against Richard Hallet and myself against Joe Moore) and we went to last round where I should play repair round with Ron and Lubabalo plays with Earl Morrison.

I have 22 points, Ron has 19, Lubabalo 17 and 4 players have 15 points: Jim Morrison, Earl Morrison, Joe Schwartz and Larry Keen.

After 45 minutes of round we have so far drawn matches:

A. Moiseyev vs R. King
L Keen vs J. Schwartz
J. Webster vs T. Laverty
J. Morrison vs J. Moore

I think only matches L. Kondlo vs E. Morrison, J. Francis vs R. Hallet and T. Stanley vs H. Kelley are still in progress. Lubabalo has very suspicious position in first game (game on life stream).

$1500 not much (less than I expected) but trophey is beautiful :D

More later.

I been using my extra time here updating the ratings. So far I have youth, minors, and half of majors done. I will let everyone know when I have it all updated and complete. We should really see some changes, especially in the masters.

Major ratings are done. Alex Holmes went up a great 123 points achieving a 2001 rating, in my opinion, definitely good enough for masters. Master ratings will be done a little later after everyone is finished.

World Champion Alex Moiseyev (USA)

won the 2012 US Nationals with 24 points ahead of

GAYP-World Champion Ron "Suki" King (Barbados

on 21 points. Third place went to

Grandmaster Lubabalo Kondlo (South Africa) on 19 points in his first top level 3-move tournament.

Congratulations to these three outstanduing players and all other participants!

The major event was won by 13 year old (!) Alex Holmes (USA), while George Stallsworth (USA) won the minor event.

Last but not least John Acker deserves full credit for providing the reults as well as a live steam of each round.
