Good Matchup
Judging by the ratings at http://icheckers.net/ratings, the match we should be promoting is one between Joe Moore and Eric Strange.

me and Joe play sometimes in Kurnik. I believe he is a bit better than me. Although he states otherwise.

Re: WCDF Ratings Update?
Some players here seem to mistake the ACF ratings with the WCDF ratings. This topic was about the WCDF ratings, not about the ACF ratings.
Kent asked why they are not published yet, and I have to admit that the WCDF ratings this year will be further delayed, as the communication between the rating processor and the WCDF ratings committee seems to be broken.
We will now collect results from late 2011 and 2012 and I will calcutate the ratings on my own this time, based on the old Elo-system.
Kent Layne is on the B-list of the WCDF:
527 103021 Kent Layne 2130 12/06 BAR M don't play 3 years
as his last result that was sent in is from 2006, and all players that have not played in a rated event will be listed on the B-list.
All federations and organizers are asked to sent their complete cross tables with all individual round results shown and all names given with first names and family names to me, if that event was played after September 1st 2011. Plz also include the date and venue of the event, the style and the time rates.
Plz sent them to my email address: nimzo@gmx.de
New ratings will be published within this year.

Re: WCDF Ratings Update?
In GAYP I think we can agree you are the better player. In 3 move I might have the edge, but that is very debatable, especially after your impressive win in Vegas.Eric Strange wrote:me and Joe play sometimes in Kurnik. I believe he is a bit better than me. Although he states otherwise.

Re: WCDF Ratings Update?
yes ingo it is important for all fedarations to hand in there cross tables. see austrilla is part of the wcdf yet i never seen a tournament result from there. glad to hear u doing it this time ingo rating is important to our sport like in chess it sperates the great players from the not so great.and it would gave the public a chance to see the new stars and countries who have now come in.i not heard about denmark playing checkers til this year.
ingo thats alot of working doing all the ratings by your self i still think it should be done by 3 people or so like in chess.maybe u should put that forward to the wcdf.

Re: WCDF Ratings Update?
Alex, enough bits that I would not blitz vs Joe in a 3-move tournament. I honestly have no idea who is better. He has advantage in Published Play for 3-move openings. He says I have better crossboard (debatable). We would need to play A LOT more games to determine anything significant. We are probably pretty close, to be honest. which is a good indication that the ratings are fairly accurate.... Although many players (especially at the top), need to play more tournament games to make their rating "real"

You both are getting better boys ! And remember - hard, intensive study and preparation improves not only your knowledges, but crossboard skills as wellEric Strange wrote:Alex, enough bits that I would not blitz vs Joe in a 3-move tournament. I honestly have no idea who is better.
And opposite way - if you don't know much PP it doesn't mean you are good crossboard player !!! Ha-ha

Re: WCDF Ratings Update?
i think it would look more international when a tournament result is written to put the players rating status infront of there name just like in chess. Gayp world champion grandmaster Ron king Grand master Jack francis.
i think the wcdf is doing a good job thou geting these these other countries to join in like denmark

Re: WCDF Ratings Update?
I just find out surprisingly that WCDF ratings were updated "as-of-December 2012". I still barely am qualify to play in Master Division which is certainly a great news !

Re: WCDF Ratings Update?
And all those other "consistent" players in the 2100's must be average majors at best, since they are 150 to 200 points or lower than youI still barely am qualify to play in Master Division which is certainly a great news !
