Lubabalo won the playoff in a very fine 8-game rapid play session: 3-1 with 4 draws.

Re: Sport Accord Beijing 2012
I have most games in pdn, but still need to add yesterday's blitz games. (Yesterday was busy, and I leave for airport in an hour).
I'll don't think there are any issues with distributing unannotated games. I plan to add another travelog article and some annotations in next ICHF annual magazine.

Re: Sport Accord Beijing 2012
Many thanks for your updates Richard. It appears to have been a very successful event, (despite the poor Sport Accord website coverage) and the interest shown by the Chinese towards our game should not be underestimated. I can only say we've had five great ambassadors in Beijing for our game.
Congratulations to Alex on his success, but also to Lubabulo Kondlo who scored more wins than any other player during the round robin sessions – a very impressive performance amongst this group. The “two horse race” prediction proved to be very wrong here!

Re: Sport Accord Beijing 2012
This time i did my job - helped Richard to meet with SportAccord and Chineese Draughts Federation authorities. Both meeteings (I participated in both) were very successful in my eyes and opened a great opportunity for future contacts and promotions.
It was one of the most strange checkers events I ever played. From 12 games I didn't lose any, haven't been in lost, won one game and missed 3 (!) wins with Michelle, Ron and Lubabalo.
My play was safe but not very fresh. Safety on short distance was the main factor contributed to my victory.
BTW. I had weak side in the game which I won against Lubabalo in Black Hole ... another Lubabalo accomplishment to drew this opening having red.
Lubabalo success here was tremendous and obvious and I awarded him with "3-moves grandmaster" title. This is my own personal title and recognition which has nothing to do with official WCDF titles !
More later ... just came back home and still waiting missing laggage. I've got it in New York, putted on flight to Columbus, but didn't find it here.
Life continues !!!!!!!!!
My wife showed me financial offer from Washington University in Saint Louis and said that I can't retire until 70's ... haha
Respectfully,
SportAccord 2012 winner

My laggage is there. Kids jumped on gifts, I jumped on scoresheets from Beijing 2012. Even though Richard recorded all games, I like to have all of them with me.Alex_Moiseyev wrote:still waiting missing laggage.
Tournament and end of the world are over now and I am ready for 2013.
The very special Merry Christmas to everyone and I wish 2013 will be better and easy for all of us !

Thanks for sharing the pictures Alex and I want you to know I like the tie.
I really like the top picture of the 4 of you along with Rich, it's great!
Did you not like the food there? You're looking kind of thin up there on the podium next to Lubabalo and Miki, their jackets are a bit streched and their buttons seem to be holding on for dear life, it would seem that they enjoyed the food anyway.

Pal, thanks for kind comments. I really enjoyed Chinese food and didn't limit myself by anything except items with sugar as ingrident ... no junk drinks (soda, etc) or sweet bakery, cream.Palomino wrote:Did you not like the food there? I am the only one in this company who smokes heavily for 40 years (since 13 years) - maybe this is the reason I look better ?
In other hands - I was the only man in Beijing among draughts/checkers players (64 and 100) who smoke. No other checkers or 10x10 man players have this habit, but few 10x10 woman - YES. I also saw alot of bridge players in smoking room, a little bit chess players and no GO players.
