Re: barbados national dates
See if you can help get the USA vs Barbados at the end of the WCDF match. If we play at night you should be able to get a lot of participants. We have plenty of people, including my son, that want to play and can make it there from October 5th through the 8th (9th if necessary). We could play two rounds per night like we will do for the Barbados National.

Now I think it is best to play three rounds for the USA vs Barbados match. I still like the national setup.

I won $600.00 in 2004 when I came in second. But, the truth be told, I am going to Barbados for the vacation. Checkers and Chess are fun activities that I can earn extra money where ever I am.

Barbados national
We fly in Thursday. We will be there by 2pm EST. I am looking forward to giving everyone a report on this highly expected wonderful trip. While my GAYP study has only been to play GM Charles Freeman (Chuck) once a week and sometimes GM Jim Morrison (obviously I would do some review before playing) I feel my calculations and knowledge of endings is a lot better than when I played in Barbados in 2004. I am looking forward to playing Ron King in the finals once again! I will enjoy the island very much regardless of the results. We will be staying at Battaleys Mews. In 2004 when we were there we never met a stranger.....nor did we never meet someone who couldn't play good checkers!

Re: barbados national dates
I have been thinking about ordering some. I am so busy now-a-days that I have a list that constantly is updated by crossing items off and adding new ones and then prioritizing again. I still have a draft for increasing youth membership that I need to finsih. I have missed my own deadline on that as well. I am just getting over a terrible illness that required medicine to cure, antibiotics, etc. Not to mention that I lost 10 pounds (actually that was the easiest when you are sick) for the Barbados trip. We have people at work that are retiring which also adds to involvment of activities and participation of more tasks. Still, I feel lucky to have an awesome family and that my wife will be able to travel with me this time to Barbados. Perhaps October will work out for us (including Alex Holmes) too.

What is the exact address of the Barbados Tournament. Now that we are here and are having fun I think I should try to make the tournament too!
