You think we had better economy in 2011 ?

You can compare the US Dollar value in different years at this site. Value of the dollar is worse.

John, when is the deadline for nationals sign up that we can still get the discount?

This calculator site must be suited. WH administration reported lesser inflation ... although my wife reported much higher inflation.

I am not playing, this is GAYP. But just want to support a winner ... whoever it will be. Strong players are minority and discriminated, we have to support them. Ron or Lubabalo (if attend) will pick it. I can even sign $20 bill and make it more worthy.

On serious note - I personally invite to support ACF and John significant efforts. Without good sponsors in weak economy only our self can keep game alive. Help yourself !

Alex, I am calling you out. I want you to play at this tournament. Besides, this should not be much of a travel expense for you, and all your prize money should cover everything and more.

Joe, I can't contribute much to this style and can't get much benefits from playing GAYP. So ... it's lose-lose situation for both of us.

I think I can give and take more by playing 3-moves.

Checkers awards only ones who love the game. Not much love between me and GAYP :D

JohnAcker wrote:Maybe we should take the 11-15 openings out of the deck for the WCM? :-)
John, I am OK with openings (even, uneven or critical), I am not OK with style: play one (or each) game as free style.

BTW. As future Referee of 3-moves WCM you should be aware of such openings which have nothing to do with GAYP

11-15, 21-17, 15-19
11-15, 22-17, 15-18
11-15, 23-18, 10-14
11-15, 23-18, 12-16
11-15, 23-18, 15-19
11-15, 24-20, 12-16
11-15, 24-20, 15-18

So ... in conclusion we should say: free choice is very restrictive !

This is my personal opinion only. Many people like GAYP, also new players usually start from GAYP. So, we both are fine - me and GAYP ... but our ways don't cross each other :D

I respect your thoughts Alex, and I can understand them. But my point is, you don't lose anything by coming to this tournament. However, great players like Ron King, Kondlo all gain because it gives them greater competition, which I would assume they want. The same way they show up to play your favorite style in 3 move, I think you should show up for them and play their perferred style. Also, I still want revenge against you from last years nationals, and I think GAYP would be my best opportunity to get even lol.

I am losing 5 vacation days.

Ron and Lubabalo (and other GAYP players) can be benefited from playing 3 moves. But it doesn't work opposite way ... at least for me. I already tested this many times in the past.

GAYP and 3 moves - different sports, different skills, different attitudes.

BTW. I am still hoping a little bit that I can play GAYP QT this year on Barbados. And I need an extra 5 business days for this. If this happen - it will be my first attempt to fight for GAYP title after 12 years.

The problem can be completely 100% resolve, if you agree to be my life sponsor, I can quit my job as computer programmer and you compensate it for me for the next 15 years when I plan to retire. If you are interesting my salary + benefits in PNC Bank, I can email it to you :D

Hey, we all think differently and are committed to different things. That is one thing I think we can agree on.

Hmmm....I think save the email for now. lol

Hey, I am trying to promote movie and encourage people to buy it and see all creatures - Lubabalo, Ron, myself, Alan ... and more, more, more.

All after all - I don't have much objections how they frame it. But playing weak line of Pioneer against Ron in last game of match wasn't a best choice for Lubabalo. He is good in checkers but still scholar in psychology :D
