John, thank you for letting the checkers/draughts community know! I just read this on my way to the Checker Maven's
weekly article. The Checker Maven website even has a Richard Pask page. My thoughts and prayers are with Richard Pask.

This really is terribly sad news. I have known Richard since he was a young boy. A great player and a great person. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Just received the news that Richard has regained consciousness and is able to talk, and he knows who he is, and all the other signs are good.
Cathy and Robert say many thanks for all the kind messages.

This good news is just what we anxiously wanted to hear. Richard Pask's contributions to our game are tremendous and his generosity in sharing his knowledge with others is admirable.

I’m hoping and praying for his rapped return to good health.

Only a week or so after I spoke with him extensively on Skype ... he is such a fine man, a true gentleman and the finest checkers writer ever .... I too wish him continued recovery and a speedy return to good health.

I know - he'll be OK.
I am playing checkers, not chess.
