I haven't made up my mind yet.

I can't plan a long journey without enough information.

Could you please give more information on the event?
I mean the dates, venue, prize money, hotels, schedule, etc.

Best Regards

1) American or Barbados dollars ?

I understand - this is total amount for all 3 events.

2) What is 1st price in "Open event" ?
3) What is 1st price in Woman event ?
4) What is 1st price in Youth event ?

I am still thinking about all aspects of this financial deal. Ron King mentioned in Beijing that 1st price might be around $2,000. This is very close to my total expenses. What will be benefits and profit from such trip ?

We dont expect much of a profit when we play in Ohio or IL tourneys, do we? All fun aside, Barbados is an awesome Island.

Well ... :D In both cases expenses are minimum. In addition in OH I am fighting for the most respectable title which is comparable in my eyes with GAYP World Title. Tinsley and Long were OH Champions in different years, and they never fought for GAYP.

Barbados is awesome place, no doubts but since my son was accepted to WASHU I am on very limited tie budget  :bounce: .

All after all - GAYP QT should collect all best players in the World and my chance to win 1st prize is not 100%, maybe 99.99% :D :D :D

Details have been very slow to come in. Today I learned David Clarke is putting together an internet site with all the info. Suki has told me there is prize fund of at least 10,000 ($US), but I have not seen any governmental letters to confirm this.

Also dates may now be October 5-14, and some of this time will be for other events, like USA-Barbados match and other variants, like 100-square and 64-square.

The total budget was bigger in 2008 3-moves QT in Beijing. 42 players from 20 countries were played and accommodation and food was 100% covered for everyone. In addition, airfare was paid in full for 5-6 people.

Concerning $10,000 US ... is that prize money or just budget money ? Anyway, as of today it's only nice promise, willingness and declaration. Lets wait and see how it goes.
