Thats what I meant, sorry if it wasn't clear. Since OH is not in the same district as PA, there would be no way to crown a PA State Champion at that event to my knowledge. I assumed the word "combining" referred to players and promotion, not titles.

Thanks for the comments Joe. I'll keep the information flowing as I get it.
I assumed no PA, District 3 titles could be rewarded. What I thought "combining" meant was putting the two tournament names together, example: Mid-Ohio/PA Tournament. That I am against, though it looks like that was not the intention. I probably took it the wrong way. I obviously choose the PA tournament on that date, though if you do end up cancelling it I will start making some calls :)

The room is a bit of an odd shape (trapezoid), but it's big enough for a small tournament. I don't think it could accommodate much more than 20 people, but it should work for this event. The manager is very willing to work with me and I'm sure if we needed to we can setup a secondary playing room.
The new venue is:
Days Inn Carlisle North
1825 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, PA

It's closer to the turnpike and there are several nearby restaurants (including a Waffle House about 1 mile south). A 24 hour diner is within a short walking distance.

It's a few miles from the venue we've held it the past couple of years. If anyone books at the old venue (or anywhere else in town), we can arrange for rides out to the playing room.

Because of the situation I've got an even better group rate for the rooms at the North location, $49.99 + tax (9%).
Both Days Inn's are operated independently, so that rate will not apply to the old location.

After talking with a couple of people via e-mail, it seems that I'm going to miss out on some (all?) Amish because of the Mid-Ohio. It also seems to be the general consensus that we would have a better chance to attract more new/local players by switching to a Saturday start.

August 17-18 (saturday/sunday)
Days Inn Carlisle North
3-Move Restriction
7 Rounds - Swiss
$20 entry fee
Rooms $49.99 + 9% tax (smoking rooms available)
ACF membership requirement waived for first time tournament players, but membership required to win the state or district title.
