No offence intended Michael........but yur team looks a bit old school where are the "young guns" i was hoping you would give chances to the younger lads for the future and give em some experience.Or maybe its the case they dont want to travel in which case disregard what ive said? Just my thoughts!!

I would love to see some young folks on the team. For starters Steve Jones, Clayton Nash, Nick Addante, Nick Boatman, Teal Stanley, and Eric Strange. I would also like to see my son be on the team too. No one has contacted me yet. From what I understand there may not be a lot of the original team from 2004 going. My phone is 502-767-2725. Please post on here since as of July 8th my insight account will go away due to being bought out by the infamous Time Warner.

USA vs. Barbados

Post by Michael Holmes »

Team USA so far
Jim Morrison
Chuck Freeman
Michael Holmes

Those who have not confirmed:
Moiseyev
Dr. Beckwith
Teal Stanley
Walker
Nash
Millhone
Joe Schwartz
Eric Strange
Joe Moore
A. Tucker

Those who said no:
John Webster

And I am trying to see if we can get my son added as a team member. While he did not do as good in this last tournament he did win a GAYP game from Webster in it.

There is a good chance that 50% of the undecided will not go. Therefore others that are interested should let me know as soon as possible. My insight account does still work and my wife should be creating a hotmail account for me. until then you can pm me like Moiseyev did or email michaelholmes@insightbb.com

There are several more players now considering going . We just need to find out how much the ACF can provide money wise and the details of the 5,000.00 from Barbados that goes toward the match.

I will submit a budget that will have some of the below information:
4 Days, 12 Players, Hotel per day $70.00, Flights $700.00, Food per day $75.00, and Transportation $150.00.

Total expenses are estimated to be $17,160.00. I believe the Barbados commitment is $5,000.00. for this match but it is unclear how much of that will be provided to the USA team. How much can the ACF provide per player is the question right now. It is very obvious that the ACF would not be able to provide the entire $12,000.00 (if all funds from the Barbados commitment were given to the USA team) that would be needed to cover the trip. What some players want to know is how much is actually available.

I am not coming to Barbados. If ACF collected any money for my travel fund, please - hold it and use later for 3-moves match USA vs Italy in February 2015.

Sorry to hear Moiseyev, Webster and Keen are not going. I will be going and my son will be going to Barbados in October. If we are invited to represent the ACF we will be happy to do so.

Michael, I wish good luck to you, Alex H. and other top USA players who is coming to Barbados. My recovery after match in Italy goes smoothly but I just need a little bit more time.

And again ... if any money which were collected for my travel fund - either ACF or private contributors, please keep them for my future travels or use for any other good promotional deals which help players and Federation.

I am not Christian in good standing but I propose you to forgive John and leave all negatives behind. All public apologizes are very sensitive and painful, and asking him to do this only raise tension, don't help to resolve problems and improve things.

I am very confident that next GAYP challenger will be American !

Regards,

Alex
