Ron King certianly dominnated this era, challenged from 2000 on by Alex Moiseyev and recently by the Italian school lead by Miki Borghetti and Sergio Scarpetta.

Ron is certainly the most successful tournament player ever in terms of how many major events he won.

Honorable mentions are William Docherty, Sean McCosker, Mustafa Durdyev, Baghtiyar Durdyev, Pat McCarthy, Lubabalo Kondlo, Jack Francis, Jim Morrison and Richard Hallett.

As for the women, the tree World Champions Patricia Breen, Amangul Berdiyeva and Nadiya Chyzhevska are the leading figures, with Erika Rosso a very honorable mention, and Jan Mortimer another one.
