I asked our ratings processor for an update a couple weeks back....never got a reply, so not sure if he's on vacation or something.

What do you like about checkers?: I love strategy games and checkers fits the bill for a great strategy game, that requires logic and problem solving skills.

Ratings

Have ratings information been sent to Igor so that the WCDF can also update their ratings information?

Michael,

Ratings info that has happened to be sent to me has been forwarded to Igor (including IL, TN and others). Other tournament organizers should be doing the same, as stated in some recent "procedure" updates I have put out for reporting tournaments.

Tournaments Used

Perhaps Igor or whoever can tell us what tournaments have been used in the WCDF Ratings list so far.

I think it might be a good idea to do the ratings by online database. The tournament directors always posts the results. These results could be submitted/confirmed, then the ratings would be automatically done.

Yes Michael, we are working on a list of all WCDF-rated events so far as Igor alreday pointed out, and will publish it soon, so that everybody may sent in unreported results.

Plz be patient, as we first have to work and discuss about it in our commitee before we go publish, but I think this will soon be done.

Getting back to Alex's original question, the ACF ratings (as opposed to WCDF ratings) have been updated. However, the list of rated tournaments is not up to date, but I understand it includes 2006 TN, IL, Greensboro, and a couple Missouri tournaments, including a late entry from last year.

I'm suprised that only comments in this thread are ones that complain of how ratings are not up-to-date; why is it that no one comments to try to mitigate this as I implied in my post?

Matthew,

i like your idea and would jump on a project to try and make that happen.... however there are people who do not have internet access and people who would prefer sending information through regulart mail.

Also, in order to be efficient, the tournament pairing forms would have to be universal. I'm not sure how close that is, but if there are some who do things completely different, that could be a problem.
