Re: forgot to mention this
I agree with Steve Holliday - Dr. Richard Beckwith is "natural author". On long run - I can predict for Richard very bright and successful "checkers writer" career. I wish - I could help him more with this book rather than simple contribution of games, but unfortunately it was 100% influence with my work for SIXTH at the same time.
In other hands - Richard was able tremendously to help me with editing English and contest of the SIXTH.
I like the "Ohioan Yearbook" style - soft, social and ... highly professional. An attempt to restore "REPRO" style in checkers literature was very successful !
Regards,
Alex

Comments on Ohio Book :-)
Hello Everyone:
I have been in Florida at my Brother's home the past week and will not return to Ohio till this Wednesday late. I took along my copy of Dr. Beckwith's fine book. Much good reading to be found, very well annotated games (even the two I lost to Mr. Alex) are instructive and much to be learned from any of the games found in this book. I was also glad to see the publication of many of Mr. Louis Cowie's fine problems. Early match and tournament history expertly done by Mr. Steve Holiday.
Yes, Dr. Beckwith is a fine author who leaves no stone unturned. Much Ohio Checker history to be found in this fine book and much Ohio Checker history to be found as well. I am proud to see several of my game (won or lost--it does not matter) preserved in this book. I would highly recommend adding this fine book to your library before they are all sold.
Sincerely:
Alan Millhone , President

Re: Forgot to mention this--- Ohioan Yearbook
Patrick, I thank you for the kind post, and I appreciate the comments from Alex and Alan as well.
I hope this book will be a tribute to Ohio greats Louis Cowie and Alex Moiseyev, who both have had amazing accomplishments. Also included are many recent games from Cowie and Moiseyev (including many of Alex's "newer" games not covered in Sixth, Vol. 1.)
Books can be ordered through me for $20 or via ACF store (under game transcripts). I will also bring copies to Medina and Stonehaven. Money goes to Ohio Checker Association.
