Re: European cup 2015
The Italian Open starts tomorrow morning at 9 am (Italian local time). So far we have 9 confirmed entries: 3 women and 6 men. We hope that someone else comes here tomorrow. Anyway the principal news is the presence of the three current world champions: Michele Borghetti (3-move world champion), Nadiya Chyzhevska (GAYP and 3-move female world champion) and I (GAYP world champion).
There should be the possibility of following this event online, but I don't have the link yet. I'll let you know as soon as I can.
Contemporaneously with this tournament, there is the final interscholastic tournament in Italian style and 10x10. About 200 kids are taking part in this team final.

Sergio-Miki goes 3-1 in Round 2 of 7 Rounds. It looks like a Round Robin since there are 8 contestants.

Re: European cup 2015
Kent, it looks to me like two games to a match (or round). It looks like standard checkers scoring, 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.
I don't see any half points like they have in chess.

Re: European cup 2015
That is an interesting time for moves in the Italian Open Checkers: Rate of play 40' + 10"/move.

Re: European cup 2015
The time clock is set for 40 minutes at the start of the game, and 10 seconds are added to the clock after every move.champion374 wrote:what you mean George?
That looks like a Fischer clock or something very similar! The "Rate of Play" is given on ChessArbitor Pro draughts.
