Re: Missouri Mixer - June 19th thru 21st
Many thanks to Joe and everyone who makes this dream real.
Perhaps best format - 8 rounds where two players play 4 games, 2 openings - one opening 3 moves, and one opening 11 man ballot.
I can't wait to play in this event! Good money and great chance for revenge from previous year

While I won't be able to participate this year, Clayton Nash told me that he may be attending. Also checkers Internet legend Chee Xiong has mentioned a possibility of attending as well, perhaps aiming to dethrone the Russian bear

Re: Missouri Mixer - June 19th thru 21st
I made my reservation today, $150.00 for 3 nights - great deal. I remember previous year Brian Hinkle had problems with "last minute" reservation and was forced to use another hotel. I plan to leave earlier Thursday morning, step over in St. Louis for couple hours to have launch with Paul and his girlfriend and then go to Branson.
It will be fun for everyone, many thanks to Joe McDaniel, his wife Jennie, their companion David Seres and Missouri Checker Association !
I plan to leave on Sunday after end of event and closing Ceremony.
See you there !

I arrived in Branson safely after some confusion in KC. Hope we have at least 50 for two . I am anticipating a middle finish in Class "B", if there are enough people kind enough to let me win a few games!!

Re: Missouri Mixer - June 19th thru 21st
Michael Holmes, Jim Morrison, Lubabalo Kondlo all rumored to be there along with Alex M and Clayton Nash. Two Internet legends also announced they will be going, Eric Strange and Chee Xiong, two master players. Already this is looking like a tough tournament! I hope some of the games will be broadcasted.

Just back from 12 hours driving. I will post some of my games including 2 11 man ballot wins over Internet legend Chee + my the only loss in 3 moves game to Dr. John Webster.
Stay on for more news.
My play wasn't very perfect but getting better and recover after surgery.
Winner of Major Division also received a copy of "Sixth" with my autograph.

Re: Missouri Mixer - June 19th thru 21st
Congratulations to Alex and Lubabalo on their first place finishes. It's unfortunate that their final round was not played, but that seems to be a new ACF tradition now, is to not play out the last round. Congratulations to Arthur Mays for winning the majors division.
I also want to take my hat off to Chee Xiong for putting Internet checkers aside and coming out to play against some of the very best in the world. I hope he and more Internet players come out next year as well. Another Internet legend, Alfredo, has expressed interest in possibly attending next year.
