Re: world qualifier 2016
George, I am reviewing now my financial situation. It is quite possible that I may need some sort of support and sponsoring. I already submitted email to my good sponsors in the past. In the meantime I asked Dr. Richard Beckwith to add my name to the list of ACF nominees for WQT.George Hay wrote:Mr. Alex, will you be competing in Rome?

Re: world qualifier 2016
There is some preliminary, but detailed WQT info at wcdf site:
http://www.wcdf.net/index.htm
The WQT link near bottom of the page opens up Carlo Bordini's pdf of regulations. It is in Italian, but English translation is immediately underneath for each section. Please note that, as of this writing, there is an unresolved issue with number of rounds -- current schedule shows 7 rounds. Adding an 8th round (as statutes dictate) will likely require players staying another night.

Hey,
is there any checker player in Rome with great heart and spirit, who is ready to meet me and Jim Morrison in FCO airport (Terminal 3) around 10:00 AM on June 7th (Tuesday) and take us to Olympic Training Center ?
If so - please, respond here or send me PM or email (rusms + juno.com)
Respectfully,
Alex / Jim

Re: world qualifier 2016
-- In non IMSA/WMSG years (which is usually the case), it is two players per WCDF-affiliated association (plus up to two women and two youth). The host country/association earns a third nomination slot. And there are a few limited scenarios where a player may earn an independent WCDF nomination, such as person who lost previous world title match of that same style of play.Question how many players can represent a country?

Re: world qualifier 2016
For me it is more important - how many rounds we play and when we start - Wednesday or Thursday. There are slight different versions and views on this matter - 7 or 8 rounds, Wednesday or Thursday.
