Alex Holmes will be representing the US in the World Qualifying Checkers Tournament. I recently purchased the ticket and I am trying to raise funds for his stay there. I am on my last mission wirh the Army ( retire July 1st) but when I finally checked my mail I found a great surprise to help Alex Holmes: Checks from Albert Tucker, George Hay, Steve Holliday, and Joe McDaniel. Alex broke his foot playing soccer today. We are still at the hospital. I will be returning all funds. Hopefully he can challenge the winner in a few months and make the trip then.

OMG. I wish him fast and easy recovery. Extremely pity. He'll be able to play soccer eventually ?

I don't know if WCDF BY-LOWS allow such match, but if it's happen would definitely very interesting event and grab world checkers fraternity attention.

Thanks moiseyev. Eventually he will recover (approximately six months). Right now checkers and soccer are the furtherest thing from our mind. He has to have surgery in a couple of days.
