Hello ACF,

I've played checkers with my dad growing up, and have played with a handful of people here and there, but haven't been presented with the opportunity to play the game nearly as often as I have with Chess. I think that's a shame. I've also felt that the solutions out there to play these games online are sub-par, so I came up with my own solution.

What do you like about checkers?: I love strategy games and checkers fits the bill for a great strategy game, that requires logic and problem solving skills.

This is interesting. How capable would you be at building a full gaming site for playing checkers? Similar to chess.com

Has anyone looked at lidraughts.org? It's based on the lichess code base and is extremely good and rather popular. It has quite a few variants but alas, only flying kings. I asked about "straight" checkers and they weren't especially interested. But the source code is freely available. It likely wouldn't be hard at all to add the Anglo-American variant. Of course then someone would have to run a server and all that.

I like playing 10x10 with the computer on https://lidraughts.org. It has a nice formate, and no sign-in required. Unfortunately, it does not have American Checkers. One recent change I don't like is it no longer defaults to "Unlimited" in time control. I do, however, like that it has the numbers outside of the checkerboard, not on the checkerboard.

I love playing American Checkers with the computer on https://www.lutanho.net/stroke/online.html. This website has many games, and the best game of all "Checkers" is found mid-way down the column labeled "For two players." After 500 plies (250 moves on each side) the game is a draw!
