It is indeed very sad and makes me really angry that such a noble and useful attempt is suspended because of selfish, greedy and egoistic behaviour of some subjects.

My respect and amiration to Jake Karcher for his great site. I hope it is not the end.

Greetings to all

Very very sad news to hear that this site has been abused...Players of all variants of our game will sadly miss this platform which was so generously and unselfishly proposed to us all.

Personally I had been using the 10x10 books as well as the checker books, and now that reality has hit , I can confidently say that if I were asked to pay to be able to access this site then I definitely would.
I cannot imagine that I'd be the only one to accept this, and it is perhaps the only way to keep this site up, and also pay respect to the huge efforts made by Jake

Let's hope the site will not be down for too long Jake, and I aswell as others would be ready to pay the price!!

William

I am pissed off. Tried to restore World and USA games animation, the very next day someone from Kenya used a pirate program to download all 26000 games, that action blew all traffic limits and forced the shut down, now no one can watch the games.

In 2019 the library started receiving ACF bulletins directly from ACF, seems logical to be posted, why else send? By that time the ACF Bulletins section was already closed, so the issues stayed on for about a month in the New Arrivals section.

In 7 years the "Online checkers library" thread had 400 posts and 80,000 views, likely the most viewed thread on the forum.

I tried accessing the online checkers library site and I keep getting a "resource cannot be found" message on my browser.
Does anyone else have a similar problem?
cheers,

Hi Danny, I just got to the Online Checkers Library from The Checker Maven home page

http://www.bobnewell.net/nucleus/

In the left hand column at the top of The Checker Maven home page is a list of Checker Links, I then clicked on Library and linked to the Online Checkers Library.

http://checkersusa.com/books/

I then clicked on Straight on the top center right of the page to get to STRAIGHT CHECKERS / ENGLISH DRAGHTS.

http://checkersusa.com/books/straight/

I then clicked on a couple of books, and the PDF files opened just fine.

I hope this helps! Cheers, George Hay.

I have seen very distinctive covers for Morris-Systems Checkerist magazine, now got a pleasure of holding one issue in my hand.
