I don't think I can every make a September tournament that lasts four days in September while I am working as a government employee. Hopefully next year it will be a different month.

Hugh Henderson emigrated from Scotland to America in 1905, and won the old ACA 2-Move Nationals in 1912 and 1915. Henderson passed away in 1918 from the influenza pandemic. Has it really been over 100 years !?

I just spoke with Plaza hotel. Rooms are still available, and should be reserved by August 16th. Another detail is the group code should be SPACA18 (and not 1SPACA18), and it's also under the name of "American Checker Federation."
Also, that group code only applies for the nights for the tournament, and this part of the reservation wouldn't apply for any optional extra nights before and after the tournament for those wanting to stay extra days (but Friday/Saturday room rates at the Plaza Hotel are much higher.)

It is common to say - "The best should win". But with this particular exceptional event we may say - "the one who needs $4,00 more than others, should win!" Great price, great event, great venue. We should have an exceptional collection of star grands around the globe and many other attendants. I heard rumors that total number of players in three Divisions is close to 75. Truly fantastic number!

Many thanks again to Joe McDaniel's, his wife and everyone else who made this happened. People make difference!
