2 Notes from Kim Willis (referee) She writes:

... I will be taking pictures of the Tournament and will be selling them.

National photos on CD $25.00

plus photos of International Match in Rome will be available $25.00

Kim has consistently done a very nice job with photos at past tournaments.

To answer William's question on National Attendance -- I have a WORD file of the stats going back 30 years (available by e-mail).
In recent years, the total number for all divisions has ranged anywhere from 19 to 56 entrants, with 56 being the most recent three-move National in Branson, 2016. The 2001 Vegas GAYP tournament had 100 players!

I just posted on Facebook and decided to copy here ...
============================================================================

This is definitely the strongest ACF National in decades and probably best ever single event I ever attended!

Here is list of grands I assume are willing to participate in Las Vegas 2018 ACF National 3-moves:

01. Sergio Scarpetta (Italy), current 3 moves World Champion, ex GAYP World Champion
02. Michelle Borghetti (Italy), ex- 3-moves World Champion, current GAYP World Champion
03. Alexander Moiseyev (USA), ex- 3-moves World Champion
04. James Morrison (USA), World Title challenger
05. Richard Beckwith (USA), World Title challenger
06. Ronald Suki King (Barbados), ex- 3-moves and ex- GAYP World Champion
07. Jack Francis (Barbados), World Title challenger
08. Lubabalo Kondlo (South Africa), World Title challenger
09. William Docherty (Scotland), just nice fellow!!
10. Shane McCosker (Ireland), future challenger and WC ?

In total - 10. Did I miss anyone ?

We also should have other honorable guests from Canada, South Africa, Barbados, Italy … and maybe other parts of Globe.

I can't wait it's happened!

I feel bad for the players who are a tad over 2000 and have to play in masters. I feel happy for the players who are a tad under 2000 who get to play in the majors. :D

The fund for the 2018 National 3-Move tournament is now $29,300. Over $4,100 for the Masters winner and over $2,200 for the Majors.

Now, after GAYP World title match is over, we can confirm that 6 (!) life World Champions will attend ACF National in Las Vegas … also counting Youth World Champion Alex Holmes.

Just a small error I noticed on the masters table. In round 2, you gave Alex Holmes 1 point again player #1. But he played player # 10. Just wanted to let you know so it doesn't mess up the ratings. And thank you for keeping us updated.

Thanks Joe. The scoresheet had been corrected since I entered the results the first time. I'm not sure why the validation didn't catch that error but I'll look into it.

Tournament is over now. Alex and Sergio tied on points and split top 2 prize money, but I think Sergio won on honor points.

End of story: me and Sergio tied for 1st place in Master Division with 34 points each. Sergio has better honor points and is winner of Open tournament We split 1st ($4,100) and 2nd ($2,900) prices and everyone got $3,500 Suki finished 3rd (30 points) and Lubabalo Kondlo - 4th (28 points). This is one of the best, strongest and most exciting checkers events I ever played!! Many thanks to Joe and Jeannie for supporting such event
