Well Barbados has won the bid again to host the world qualifer go as you please 2019.

Dates Venue and Prize money will be made public soon so stay tune.

As you know me Kent Layne im a member of the Barbados Draughts Association so feel free to ask any question.

Will this GAYP qualifier include two groups of youth players like the 2018 World Three-Move Qualifier that was also held in Barbados? If so (and I hope so) what is the age range for the youth groups?

For Youth - everyone younger than 20. In other words - 20 birthday should be AFTER tournament started.

Kent, as new elected WCDF Secretary I will contact with you about details, dates etc. Lets do it better organize this year. Many countries need visa to Barbados and this means - we should send them invitation letter timely, not 3 weeks before tournament. Normally - somewhere in April-July.

Room rates are too high and the hotel is not that good.
I've already been there. My friend and I had a very small room for two separated beds. There wasn't even enough room to put a chair near the beds. Fortunately, there was another room with two sofas, a few chairs, a gas stove, a sink and a few plates, pots and silveware.

This year the rates are even more expensive.

Are there any other alternatives you could recommend?
Not many people can afford to spend such amount of money.

who chooses which bid to take?

The Executive Board chooses the bid. This year the choice was easy because there was only one bid submitted by Barbados. They will give $10,000 prize fund.
