Complete Checkers 3rd Edition Available

Richard Pask's monumental Complete Checkers is now available in its third edition, with a cumulative two hundred or more corrections and additions from the original 1st edition.

The print copy on Amazon has also been updated but there is no need to buy another as the PDF version is free.

I regret not being able to provide an errata sheet as the changes are numerous and in some cases extensive and complex.

Dear Bob,

Thank you for the fantastic job you have done with the 3rd edition!

I know from very recent correspondence from a British checkerist that even this is not perfect (from the checkers standpoint), and with the incredible power of programs such as KingsRow scrutinizing every move I suppose this is to be expected. (Being far from perfect myself, it is actually inevitable.)

I am however delighted with the finished product and hope it will prove to be useful to players the world over.

I think it is fairly safe to hazard a guess that any additional corrections needed to CC3 will be of a deep and arcane nature. Surely the main lines and nearly all of the subsidiary lines are correct to at least the 3 sigma (99.7%) level for theoretical play and much beyond that for practical over-the-board play between humans.

And for the rest, I imagine there can always some day be a 4th edition or a supplement.
