11 man ballot World Title match.

Post by Alex_Moiseyev »

My 11 man ballot World Title match with Alex Holmes setup to be played in Tulsa, Oklahoma, February 21-24, 4 games per day. If score will be even after 16 games, we will play 4 more games. All selected openings will be checked by Referee vs Kingsrow list of 11 man ballot drawn openings list. Time control - 1 hour to each player for 24 moves + 30 seconds increment.

Main Referee- Ryan Pronk.

Major and the only donor - Joe McDaniel with his family, prize fund declared $5,000 and will be divided among players in standard distribution 60-40-50

I asked Ryan Pronk, how people can watch online my 11 man ballot World Title match with Alex Holmes, and here is what he wrote to me:

“Thanks, Alex! The link you can provide is: youtube.com/azcheckers . The live stream will be scheduled each day, so anyone who visits that direct link will be able access it from the page. If they check the channel a few days prior to the first day of the match, they'll be able to get a notification to be reminded.”

Is this the first 11-man match where the ballots will be checked against a list of draws? I remember previous matches & tournaments where any ballot could be played if both players agreed.

Yes, this is true. This list wasn’t available 3 years ago, when I played last match with Mochael Holmes. However, we already used this list recently at 11 man ballot National in Vidor on 2021 and it worked quite well.

Good. It's important to standardize procedures and expectations across tournaments. I have thought about creating (or sponsoring) a smartphone app that can generate 3-move and 11-man ballot openings based on user settings (e.g., only tough deck openings, only even openings), then display the starting board position for the players' reference. It could be used for individual matchups or even to standardize all games in a round, without requiring a separate card deck.

John, I think this is an excellent idea, and an advancement to our game.

From Ryan Pronk email:

“Hi all!

I have created the following link to direct anyone to the 11-man Ballot World Championship Match: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWI_vKuXuF0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWI_vKuXuF0)

The live stream is scheduled to begin on Monday, Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. EST / 10 a.m. CST. Each game will have its own separate live stream / video, so it will be easier for anyone to follow. I will also create a separate playlist "World Championship Games" that anyone can follow as well. Looking forward to seeing folks Sunday evening at the hotel!

Sincerely,

Ryan Pronk”
