So I wonder why the Chinook has lagged far behind in relation to the Cake and KR.

The main reason is that the development of Chinook ceased in the 1990s. Like most game-playing programs of that era, it used a traditional linear evaluation function. Modern programs employ machine-learning techniques and have made rapid improvements. This is true for checkers, chess and other board games such as Othello.

colussus is possible to get. I recently downloaded and the newest kingsrow crushes it.
wyllie is the only program i dont know how to get. shame he wont put it out there as freeware.

Would be great if he would give us permission to sell the software(wyllie) draughts and have funds go to youth fund or something he likes the program is way out of date but it would be cool for nostalgia perhaps. It is the only capable program I dont have.
