Vidor Draughts Festival 2025

Here is very preliminary information about Vidor Draughts Festival 2025 without much details, conditions, dates etc.

Festival will start at the end of June going over July 4, presumably lasted 11 days. Festival will consist of 4 major events:

1) World Series International match USA vs South Africa, presumably 6 boards with one alternate player, same format as we played this year against Italy: each player from one team competing against each player from another team

6 rounds, 3 days

2) Blitz. Time control presumably 3 mins + 3 seconds increment. I am in favor of Round Robin with 11 or 13 rounds, small entry fee, prizes.

1 day.

3) USA 3-moves National, 3 Divisions. Standard as any other year 3-moves National, entry fees for each Division, prizes.

4 days

4) USA 11 man ballot National, 7 or 8 Swiss system, have WQT rights - winner of this event (or second player if I finish 1st), earn rights to play 11 man ballot World Title Match. Small fees, prizes

3 days.

We are expecting now from our South Africa colleagues list of opponents by the middle of December and then hopefully have sufficient time for them to apply for visas.
