Why isn't the ACF website ever updated? ACF can't find someone who will update tournament results right away? Let Alex Moiseyev have access to the website so he can post all the tournament results.

I think Clayton Nash who is in charge to post tournament results, does his job pretty well and post most recent results. If you are talking about British Open - no information available from directors.

All ACF events are posted timely and accurately.

I hope WCDF will inform me who will be my opponent next year in the World Championship Match after Qualify Tournament will be over.

In such case - I will inform you

It is not the responsibility of the ACF to seek out the results of the different checker tournaments that are held. The tournament directors are responsible for this and it is up to them to gather the results and send them into the ACF to be posted. Due to other commitments they may not forward the results right away so that they can be posted in a timely manner on the ACF website. And please keep this in mind--almost all of the people that serve the ACF work full time or they are full time students--(Alex puts in 32 hours a day or more) so posting checker tournament results is and should not be their first priority in life. Patience is a virtue that we must all learn to cultivate--. And I can assure you that more helping hands focused on making a positive difference in the ACF would be welcomed with open arms.

The North Carolina Checker Association has the results on their website:

http://www.nccheckers.org/

click "calender" and search for the Nationals in June.
click it and then scroll the following page down
click "results", and ... voila!

The ACF website, like all checker/draughts websites r purely works of amateurs.
It depends on the personal efforts of the hosts and all contributors, if and when a website is updated.

For instance, there is no website on the British Open and the WCDF events in Stonehaven, so no quick infos on it r available.

Joshua you are mis-reading my posting. I stated that it is not the responsibility of the ACF "to seek the tournament results out". The ACF has no power to require state tournament directors to send in the results of their tournament to the ACF. And the ACF posts those results if and when they are available to them as a courtesy. And the ACF is not under any obligation to post any results of any tournaments "instantly" to its membership. But the ACF does try its best to accommodate its membership by posting tournament results as quickly as possible. Not that long ago and in most cases yet today those results would not even be available to the total ACF membership until they received their next ACF Bulletin. You state that tournament directors do send in their tournament results quickly. If this were true then they would inturn be posted on the ACF website in a timely manner. If you feel that the ACF needs more help to accomplish what needs to be done then perhaps you should think about setting a positive example for others by lending a helping hand. Food for thought!! And as I stated above "patience is a virtue we must all learn to cultivate".

Joshua if you were to involve yourself with daily ACF activities in a positive way then you would soon discover the mountains of work required just to keep the ACF functioning and headed on the right course. Most of us don't realize this because it is always easier just to let the other guy do all the work; while we just sit around concentrating on what to do after our opponent moves 11-15.

I'm sorry the results do not get updated as quickly as you would like.

Currently Clayton Nash and Kim Willis are points of contact for tournament results and announcements through the email address tournaments@usacheckers.com

I'm sure they've both been very busy and haven't had the opportunity to catch up on the results. I'll look through the emails and see if i can help them out a bit this week to get caught up.

The statement was made that other members could report the results. A while ago i started to develop a form that allowed tournament directors or other attendees to update results to the website directly. Unfortunately nobody seemed interested in it so its been "lost" in the archives.

If this is something that would be of interest now, I will certainly dig it back out and work on it some more.
