Hi All
I recently downloaded cake , mainly for the purpose of cross checking positions through archive bank.
I do not know the procedure however for transfering OCA archives into cake program.
Could someone help me please
Many thanks

Re: NEED HELP PLEASE
Look at your private messages.
There I explained it in detail.
OCA is zipped and PDN, so
1. unzip it,
2. use the "select databse" feature in the "File" menu.
et voila!

Thank youIngo for a speedy and easily comprehensible reply.
I have run OCA and am happy with the results ,but I was just wondering though if it were possible to run for example OCA and ACF all files etc etc
that is to say combining various archives to prevent a lack of ty. or match games in one or the other.

do you know if this is possible?
thanks again

Re: NEED HELP PLEASE
I think you need a database program rather then checkerboard.
Look at the message I sent you for details.
You can join two or more pdn files as follows:
1. open the OCA with a word processor.
2. open the other pdn with a word processor
3. copy the games (with headers) from the "other" pdn file to the OCA.
4. save the "expanded OCA"
4. open the expanded OCA with checkerboard, scroll down the games...
A pdn file is nothing else then a text file. You can delete and cut and paste.
Just beware that it is still saved as textfile with a .pdn extension.

P.S: You don't need to paste the ACF archive yourself.
Others have alreday done that. Just look at my message.
