Checker Book wanted

Post by Palomino »

The Compleat Draughts Player, by Irving Chernev, Oxford University Press, 1981

Does anyone have a copy of this book that they would like to sell at a reasonable price, cloth or paperback.

Regards, "Pal" Bucker

I found that listing on amazon also but can't afford that, seems like to me amazon is very proud of their checker book.

Thanks anyway, "Pal"

"The New Breed of Checker Book Dealers" presently have this book listed for--$112, $118, $125, $221 and for 166 Euros, depending on which one you want to purchase it from. All but one of those are paperback copies. The book originally sold for around $10-$12 in 1981 as I recall. It was taken out of print some time ago according to what Oxford University Press told me this morning due to lack of sales.

Hey Pal,

My mentor Igor Rybakov allowed me to borrow this book for awhile when I lived in Minnesota. I can try and contact him, but I seriously doubt he is willing to sell it.

Hey Ryan,

I'll give it some time, I appreciate the offer but hold off for now, lets wait and see if one turns up for sale by someone wanting to sell.

Thanks a lot, "PaL"
