Hello Mr. Alex:

In the late 60's I had a mentor by the name of Mr. B.T. Shafer of New Albany,Ohio. He loved problems and always had one set up for me to attempt to solve whenever I visited his home. I consider the study of problems an important segment of the study of Checkers. I also appreciate you putting problms on the forum.

(A) 25-22 and natural 11-7 both draw

(B) Anything else seems to lose. The purpose is to isolate pieces on 5 and 6. Pitching and throwing piece on square 3 also helps this.

(C) to make material even again - and putting a piece on square 14 to later isolate 5 and 6.

(D) The Killer. 25-21 loses after 16-19 21-17 18-22.

(E) Pieces on 5 & 6 are now safely isolated and white can gain one piece with eventual 14-10.

(F) Premature 14-10 would only draw after 26-30 10-1 30-21[/img]
