ACF National 2006 selected games.

Post by Alex_Moiseyev »

Many inquires are coming to ACF and I want to make an official announcement.

Games will be ready by the middle-end of November. I am very close to the end and already processed fully 6.5 rounds out of 8 in Master Division. It takes usually longer to process games this time, because my work also includes annotating games with text and diagrams.

It will be also an unfortunate true to say, that several checkers tournaments, recent family and work activities delayed the whole process. Originally I planned to finish everything in August - September, and unfortunately it moved now to November. My fault.

I can guarantee you with all my honesty - all your patience and kindness will be awarded !

Respectfully,

Many thanks for all your hard work, Alex, for taking on this large task. I'm sure the final package will be worth the wait!

Hello, all friends !

Today I had finished preliminary reviewing, selecting and annotating all games and positions from US Nt 2006, Master Division. This document contains two major sections: Selected Games and Selected Positions.

Here is a short statistic summary of this work:

1) Pages - around 80
2) Annotated games - 54
3) Selected positions - 36
4) Number of diagrams in the first Section - 171
5) Number of diagrams in the second Section - 36

I think we still need about 3-4 weeks for editing / validation / printing / mailing. But in all cases book will reach it's final destination, readers and contributors, prior X-Mas !

You can order this book through ACF Store or send checks directly to the ACF Preident, Alan Millhone. This book is worthy of only miserable  $15+shipping & handling.

Alan / Richard, am I correct about book price ?

This book is property of ACF and my part was 100% volunteerly and done in behalf of ACF.

Respectfully,

Alex Moiseyev

2006 National Games

Post by Alan Millhone »

Hello Mr. Alex:

You are correct on $15.00 price for games. A paltry sum to pay to see games of many of the top players in the World. After printing and mailing costs the ACF will garner little from the pittance we receive from the sale of each set of games.

The 'select' games have been expertly prepared by our 3-Move World Champion and reviewed by his helpers. The set of games are really worthy of being bound for any player's library.

I want to personally thanks Mr. Alex for taking on this project. In past years the 'select' games contained 50 unannotated games on about 3 sheets of paper.

Sincerely:
Alan Millhopne, President

I want personally to thanks John Acker, who again! greatly helped me this year with English editing of my books. John already finished editing "Selected ... " , and now we are nearly about to print all manucscripts and mail them.

I am checking diagrams and moves now and it may take approximately 1-2 weeks.

One more step of project completed - all games and diagrams are checked, validated and corrected. Now we are getting into pre-final stage  - create PDF file, which will be done in the next 6-10 days.

Patric, I only prepare an electronic book file, but any questions related to printing / bnding / delivery must be addressed to Alan Millhone and / or Richard Beckwith. So, I can give you only an image of picture of my PC !

Personally I think that due to speeding / expances, book printing / bounding will be done in "low profile". Although, the price - $15 only, doesn't give us alot of options here

The quality of material is close to the level of SIXTH quality. Games are very interesting and as usually there is alot of new play covered in this book.

So ... don't look at cover, look inside !

PDF file constructed and submitted to ACF authorities for the final printing / bounding (if any) / delivery. I think Mr. Millhone and / or Richard Beckwith can clarify for us an exact dates.

The very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone who reads this message and their family members :flower: :occasion5:

Hi, everyone !

In difference with SIXTH, "NT 2006 Selected Games and Positions" belongs to ACF and at this point I feel comfortable to promote it and encourage everyone to buy it.

And not only in order to support ACF with $15, but to get an extremely valuable information and improve your level. Dr. Richard Beckwith who had a chance to observe this work wrote me in email: "Overall, the book looks outstanding and carefully done. "

This new book is a team effort. Jim Loy did terrific job checking the contest and John Acker English editing was awesome ! :book: This time I allowed John to make any corrections he wants in any way, not only simple typos / gramma mistakes. The result is fantastic.

John also told me, that he will add SIXTH and "Selected ..." to his professtional resume, experience section (John major is English literature).

So ... if you are looking for Christmas shopping last minute - spend $15 and award yourself.

Respectfully,

Alex Moiseyev
