8th. IM Book back from binders !

Post by Alan Millhone »

Hello everyone:

Just now got off the phone with Mr. Gerry Lopez. He now has in his possession the hard bound copies of this historic match. Gerry indicates the covering is red with gold lettering and expertly printed, stitched and hardbound. Gerry will begin work next week on packaging and mailing books to those who have ordered so you can get yours before Christmas!
The book contains 196 pages of biographies ,expertly annotated games, excellent diagrams and assorted photos.

You can order a copy at our ACF Store or from Gerry directly.

This book is limited and demand is high already, order your copy soon:-)

Patrick,

I may bring a couple copies with me to tournaments I go to in order to help distribute the book. Although, this will be several months from now. I realize it's nice to be able to hold a book in your hands before you buy.

Here is a screen image of the cover (not too readable as it was reduced to fit in the window). The book is 8.5 x 11 inch, hard cover, gold colored lettering on the cover, 196 pages, and is beautiful:

For about 3 minutes, I linked to the wrong file. I didn't know people read that fast.

I received my book in the mail today. What a great addition to the history and literature of the game.

Got it ! Great team accomplishment. Many thanks to editor Gerry Lopez who coordinated everything and produced a real literature masterpice !

============================================

For those who concern ...

Page 42, G24, note C.

The result of my game with Elbert Lowder from US GAYP 2001 is correct (Red Wns), but players colors are wrong ! It was me who lost the game with white. Yes, it is an unfortunate true  that in the GAYP event Elbert Lowder played 9-14 22-17 5-9 and scored a win !

So, you have to read it as: E. Lowder - A. Moiseyev, not an opposite way as published.

I had searched my email back to April when I sent my annotations for this game, and find that I posted players colors correctly, but perhaps an editor didn't beleive that I lost this game with white  and changed colors !

Respectfully,

Alex Moiseyev

Elbert Vs. Alex :-)

Post by Alan Millhone »

Hello Mr. Alex:

A fitting tribute to the great GM Elbert Lowder. I don't suppose there will ever be a 'perfect' mistake proof Checker book. Finding a correction is part of the fun in our game. Also for you to find this mistake is a fitting tribute to Mr. Lowder on the day of his passing:-)

Alan, it's not an error, just typo which happened in any book.

Excellent book ! I am reading it like novell or detective :D Alot of information and new play. Some of my comments were divided among others, and this makes everything much more attractive and interesting.

All Russian proverbs which I used in my annotations were published !

Terrific job by editor. This the best IM book I ever saw. 2nd IM is a classic indeed, but in terms of the volume information and quality of analyses 8IM can be well compared with it.

Respectfully,
